Set The Trend won a listed race at Goodwood before 2 excellent placed efforts in Group 2s for Andrew Balding last term. Off mark for year in minor event at Haydock last time and should make bold bid from front.
Tazahum was the winner of handicap and listed race over C&D last term, and back to form when taking a 1m minor event at Newmarket last month. Good third in Group 3 at York next time and likely to go well again
Fulbright has thrived this summer, recording his third win on the bounce when taking Betfred Mile at Goodwood last month. Good second in listed race at Haydock most recently and comes into the reckoning
Gabrial is progressing along right lines, landing Silver Bowl at Haydock before fifth in St James's Palace at Royal Ascot. Struggled against...
All On Red won twice earlier in season and was a good third to Master of War in Newbury listed race last time, all in the mud. This trip should suit but has to prove she's as effective on less testing ground.
Amazonas made a winning start at Yarmouth in early June, and improved in defeat when fourth of 14 to Newfangled in the Albany at Royal Ascot since. Will be suited by 7f and one of more likely types here
Fantacise confirmed earlier promise when winning a Pontefract maiden in blinkers, and ran as well as could be expected when fifth in the Cherry Hinton since. Limitations exposed by that run, though.
Go Angellica is a Kheleyf half-sister to connections' 2-y-o 6f winner My Lucky Liz. Overcame inexperience to make winning debut at Doncaster (6.5f), ...
Lingfield stages a pair of 1½m maidens containing several well-bred, late maturing types representing powerful yards, and although undoubtedly quirky, Sir Michael Stoute's gelding Scottish Vespers (15:40) looks set to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking. Placed on all his previous outings in similar events this year, the application of a visor here should prove beneficial for this son of Dylan Thomas, who boasts the best form on show in this race.
Half an hour later and teaming up with William Haggas, with whom he has a better than one-in-three strike rate, Moore takes the ride on the steadily progressive District Attorney (16:10) in a handicap over the same distance as the preceeding event. In receipt of weight from all seven rivals and likely to improve for...
Dutch Supreme improved on debut to win 6f maiden at Kempton in May. Built on that when going down narrowly in handicap there following month and unsuited by run of race here last time. More to come still.
Usain Colt left debut form behind when scoring impressively over 6.5f at Newbury last October (form franked since). Best not judged on reappearance effort and remains a horse with potential.
Johnno got better with experience as a juvenile, culminating in a win at Wolverhampton (7f) in October. Run well on all starts this year, successful over C&D last time, and 5 lb rise fair enough.
Solar Deity won over 7f on debut at Kempton in November. Blinkers didn't help on slower ground than previously last time, and a bit to prove on the back of that.
Sir...
Star Surprise ran well in the main for this yard in 2011, and several creditable efforts for Ismail Mohammed in Dubai since. Nothing wrong with return third at Ayr either recently on soft ground.
Shavansky can spoil his chance at the start, but there is no doubting he's dropped to a tempting mark, and has shaped well the last twice (endured a troubled passage at Salisbury). One to take seriously.
Viscount Vert improved performer this year fitted with a hood, landing back-to-back 1m contests in recent weeks. Saddle slipped on hat-trick bid recently when in the process of giving a good account.
Sir Mike raced just once at 2 yrs, and hard to knock him this time around, placed all 4 starts, finding only one too good at Windsor in race Viscount Vert unseated....
Moodhill (Doncaster 14:00) shaped well on his return from an eight-month lay-off when finishing third in a Newmarket maiden over a mile. Given the early speed he showed that day, and with conditions likely to be testing, it is perhaps no bad thing that he drops back to seven furlongs here. There is every chance the twice-raced son of Dansili can build on his seasonal reappearance and, if that is the case, he may prove difficult to peg back.
A chance is taken that Farhaan can provide a boost for the John Dunlop yard by taking the listed Gala Stakes (16:00) at Sandown. The trainer has suffered an extremely frustrating time of things, but the stable's long losing run was snapped at the weekend and it could just be that Farhaan will offer another fillip for Dunlop. The selection...
Junoob won twice at up to 1½m at Lingfield for current yard this year, including in a listed race in February. Below form 2 of last 3 starts, however, and bit to find in this company.
Afsare Royal Ascot winner back in 2010. Some creditable efforts in defeat since, includiing when second to Crackerjack King in Italian Group 1 when last seen in May. Considered under ideal conditions.
Biondetti Won his first 3 starts but lightly raced since. Showed smart form when fourth to Mendip in Group 2 at Meydan on return, but ran poorly in Group 1 there next time. Bit to prove on first run since.
Cai Shen Progress continued in 2011, second in the Brittania prior to making all in a 1¼m minor event at Doncaster. Ran well all 3 starts this term, doing best of those...
18:15 - The Richard Hannon-trained Rhamnus made a most encouraging start when second at Newmarket last month, beaten just half a length by Fortinbrass but likely to have won had he not forfeited around five lengths at the start, and he looks capable of gaining compensation for that defeat. Uncomplicated has finished runner-up on both starts to date, arguably making her effort earlier than ideal when run down on collared close home on the latter occasion, and she could still make some improvement.
18:50 - Expose, trained by William Haggas, built on his racecourse debut when easily winning at Wolverhampton in September 2010. His most recent start, in this month last year, saw him comfortably land a Newmarket handicap on his first start at five furlongs and he has to be included...
Ley Hunter was a smart performer up to 2½m last term for Andre Fabre, winning Group 3 at Longchamp in September before good third in Prix du Cadran following month. Penalty to carry but still respected.
Opinion Poll is firmly established now as one of the top stayers around, winning Goodwood Cup and another Group 2 at York last year. Looked as good as ever when bagging Dubai Gold Cup in March and the one to beat.
Aaim To Prosper is the 2010 Cesarewitch winner who improved again last year, just denied by Chiberta King in listed race over C&D before creditable sixth to Opinion Poll in Goodwood Cup when last seen in July. Stiff task.
Askar Tau is quirky but back to best when landing Group 3 Sagaro Stakes at Ascot last spring, and ran well when fifth in...
Fingal Bay has looked something special in winning all 3 starts under Rules. Beat Barbatos by 3½ lengths for latest success in Grade 2 at Cheltenham (21f), and capable of making his mark at the highest level.
Jump City made an encouraging start over hurdles when chasing home Smad Place at Wincanton (2m) in February, and easily landed the odds at Exeter on last month's return. Needs to improve again, but can't be ruled out.
Simonsig is a point-to-point winner who made a good impression when easily landing a Fairyhouse bumper for Ian Ferguson in April. Didn't break sweat when taking Ascot novice on debut for new yard, and a danger to all.
Sizing Symphony has been progressive over hurdles, best effort when beating Bold Addition 7 lengths in 5-runner event...
