Fingal Bay has looked something special in winning all 3 starts under Rules. Beat Barbatos by 3½ lengths for latest success in Grade 2 at Cheltenham (21f), and capable of making his mark at the highest level.

Jump City made an encouraging start over hurdles when chasing home Smad Place at Wincanton (2m) in February, and easily landed the odds at Exeter on last month's return. Needs to improve again, but can't be ruled out.

Simonsig is a point-to-point winner who made a good impression when easily landing a Fairyhouse bumper for Ian Ferguson in April. Didn't break sweat when taking Ascot novice on debut for new yard, and a danger to all.

Sizing Symphony has been progressive over hurdles, best effort when beating Bold Addition 7 lengths in 5-runner event at Cheltenham (21f) last time. This represents an acid test, but may have more to offer.

Barbatos ended last season on the up and duly off the mark in 2½m novice at Aintree in October. Stepped forward again when second to Fingal Bay at Cheltenham last time, but looks held on identical terms.

Coral Point has been soundly beaten on both starts over hurdles, and looks way out of his depth here.

The Strawberry One completed hat-trick in novices at Towcester in May, and better than ever when runner-up in handicap at Market Rasen in July. Respected on form, but yard going through something of a lean spell.

Timeform Verdict: A cracking renewal of this Grade 2, and Fingal Bay can cement his position as the season's leading novice on this side of the Irish Sea. Simonsig is feared most, while Barbatos, second to the selection last time, has place prospects, also.
