Serena dying on the inside but trying to pretend she doesn't care

when she came back in 2022 this was her strategy, playing Birmingham with Ons and then play Wimbledon. Wasn't a good plan then, but for that she was injured so didn't have much choice. I think what she's done this summer was the plan all along.

still with stosur in your box it must be hard to get any positive vibes about dealing with pressure, what with stosurs absolutely appalling record under pressure at the ao

2028 Olympics seems a fitting end, so two more chances. Not like she embarrassed herself today.

I said she would embarrass herself when you first brought it to my attention that she was making a comeback, as it turned out, although the performance wasn't embarrassing, the level of player and the form of the player she lost to does make it a bit embarrassing, but it is true, she really should have had a few exhibitions at the very least before coming straight into Wimbledon, that was crazy thinking, it's like having no pre-season in football, the oven needs to be pre-heated before you put the food in, she came in cold.

My benchmark for embarrassment is Borg coming back at 35 to lose 2-6, 3-6 to some Italian mug I had never heard of at the time.

funny you mention that, I was literally watching some documentary on that a few months ago thinking, I had no idea that he made a comeback, only ever heard it said that he retired at 25 or 26 and that was that, the game moved on by the time he came back as racquet technology had changed everything and the way players played.

Reminds me of watching on youtube a while a video recommended, of McEnroe playing a young Sampras around the same time, you could see McEnroe had the hand skills, but not the power.

Saw an interview with Serena and Clare Balding, looks like it was from last weeks tournament, she did not want to be there. Claiming she just wants to see where it goes etc etc. Age and arrogance beat her, she thought she could walk in from the wilderness and walk all over the other players. Good in her day with no grace, good riddance now. In her mind the whole world is against her. Her hubby must have the patience of a Saint.

watching saba always reminds you that power is nothing without control. she has absolutely no control whatsover and so its either a piercing winner or a wild ue with nothing in between

When: 01 Jul 26 14:10
lots of parallels between saba and serena thinking about it. similar movement or lack of it
By:

When: 01 Jul 26 14:11
both have so much power. serena learnt to control it a lot better than saba has

even if sabalenka wins today I can't see her winning the tournament with how she's been playing lately

Sinner mugging again. If he doesn't raise his level he's not winning this tournament. But of course, players like him can.
