Get well soon Coco
By:
we all won but it's sad when she's such a nice person
By:
Agreed wise.

I know the IW crowd was jerks to the Williams sisters back in 2001, but these days they are best tennis crowd in tennis. They show up, they don't do muggy chants and are not hostile to players.
By:
worst case is Coco ends up washed and retired by 25. we don't want random weird injuries due to forcing unnatural technique
By:
Coco is massive for tennis and the last thing we need is her out of the game young
By:
Eala such a well rounded character.

Big year for Filipino sports. Pacman back in big boxing fights and Alex Eala drawing big crowds across the globe and rising up the rankings.
By:
hmm that's stumped me. I really want to blame Gavin if you haven't noticed!
By:
I can tell

By:
and yeah, Alex Eala is great for tennis too. hope she's around for the next 15 years too
By:
will be interesting to see what kind of following she'll have in Europe. Every tournament she has played in 2026 has been in countries with a large filipino demo.
By:
Of course she has some fans in Europe, SIG and edy to mention a few.
By:
set Diallo.
By:
I think she'll draw a crowd wherever she plays. as you say it'll be interesting to see how many at Madrid, Eastbourne, Charlestown
By:
Set Diallo

Charleston ffs

Frances Coboli was a funky match given how their form has been turbulent of late
By:
not Madrid. They hate women's tennis.
By:
old people at Eastbourne will love her. But every match is packed there, so no player will make a difference.
By:
not before starts are so annoying. Especially at tournaments in a timezone like California.
By:
Mboko/Kalinskaya is on the Cobolli/Frances court, but doesn't start til 36 mins from now.
By:
in my head T Paul and Karen are players of similar skills (maybe small edge to Paul), but one is 2.36 against Fonseca and the other 1.46
By:
Strange disparity in odds.
By:
Joao finally has a good showing in 2026 and market is turning sour on him for his next match.
By:
Not a bad start either

By:
Trainer Joao and market doesn't care.
By:
Paul punishing the market
By:
MTO Kalinskaya. HTEHB
By:
we're gonna get an early finish!
By:
Fonseca prevails !

Less rich Emma getting slaughtered in certain places in social media. People really don't like her.
By:
The exposure she gets in the UK compared to Boulta, Kartal etc is off the charts
For example to click on any sports story (not just tennis) on the BBC website a sign in prompt appears with a picture of Less Rich Emma lining up a sparkling backhand winner Add in the good looks and the wheelbarrow loads of endorsement money and there's going to be envy |
By:
Great chance for a big run with Jasmine looking wobbly and Coco out
What is clear is that if everything is going her way her actual ceiling on a hard court is very high. The problem of course is that in tennis conditions are infrequently optimal. She's getting close to the top ten and that might help keep her focused in for a while |
