I know Rublev has a good record here but 1.12 SP is stupendously low

1.03 £3,450.93 £77,537.37 1.04 £2,234.42 £12,250.48 1.05 £2,234.90 £53,507.99 1.06 £2,234.53 £79,275.74 wow I was lucky I was paying attention to ryba, she seemed kinda low energy through the second set but nothing obviously wrong, gets broken to start the third set and immediately sat down and waited for the physio to come out just to say she wanted to retire |
|
By:
woah Ryba just tapped. I got lucky with that one. Backed her at 1.83 with void book and before I had a chance to place the bf side, then all of a sudden she was 2.5
Luckily for me tapped one minuter later and the one bet I did was voided. |

Is the Dubai tournament director ok?
I mean I'm gonna be happy with a Sorana vs Ruzic final, but not sure about him. |
|
By:
might have 100 fans show up for the final instead of 200

what a load of rubbish. retires because its a tournament shes not bothered about. didnt take her long to revert to type. no way was she retiring at the aussie open and she wont be retiring at any other slams either.
|
|
By:
Kinda odd that she didn't even give it a try. Take a pill, hang in there for another 15 minutes to see if anything changes. It's not like it was peak Serena on the other side of the net.
Realistically, how many of these Dubai retirements/taps would have happened in a Slam? |
|
By:
if everybody wants to withdraw so eala can win it that would be cool too

and nowhere near this amount of retirements or taps in the slams caramba. not even close.
|
|
By:
probably won't be a muggy final, because there are mostly seeded players left, but this year's Middle East swing will hardly be remembered for the great matches.
I don't like these events because it gives players inflated rankings, but if it means Sorana in the top 20 I'll take it. Ruzic in QF here as an LL. |
|
By:
last line says it all caramba
|
|
By:
R1 of qualies LL getting this far in a tournament must be very rare

vanishingly i would say

Popcorn at the ready for Daniil vs Stefanos !
|

The crowds are pathetic, so it's not surprise to see motivation low for the big guns. It's a shame Iga and Saba didn't turn up for us bettors as would have given us nice opportunities to take them on.

By:
nearly 20 years of trying to make tennis in the middle east a thing and they still don't care. And not one good player has come through from those countries, only one close to that region in Ons and might have happened without these events. Time to pull the plug imo. Do one week per year there for the moneygrab (the finals in Saudi), but the Doha/Dubai experiment should be put a stop to and we should have indoor events in Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland etc.
Should I forward my suggestion to Jess and the council? |
|
By:
having tournaments there is nothing to do with making tennis a thing there. its all about international exposure and they will continue to pay for that in that part of the world and so its going nowhere. they have less than no interest in small crowds or an indifferent population as thats not the motivation and never has been

·9h Replying to @limuzinaxd You have no idea what it’s like to live with a chronic injury and still choose to keep going. To wake up everyday not knowing how your body will respond, searching for solutions, and fighting for something you love and give everything even when it’s so difficult. Trust me I’m the first one suffering with pain and having endless nightmares to try to find solutions every single day and for me after all stepping on a tennis court, makes worth everything every time. So I’ll keep trying. Because it’s all about trying and that won’t change. I’ll always try one more time. I’m doing this for my passion and for myself. And if there’s even a 1% chance to keep going, I’ll take it. That’s just how I see and understand life. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to follow me. And I’m so sorry to inform you I won’t retire so you’ll keep seeing me for a while. Change channel next time. |

yeah sadly it's about money as always. Maybe if there's more of what we've seen with Dubai this year, they won't offer as much going forward.
|
|
By:
but no European WTA indoor swing is really a shame, indoor hard on fast court is where the best women's tennis is played. Plus great crowds on top of that.

more second set bs from carlos

carlos has got to be kidding if he loses this. royer beat herbert at the end of october last year, then lost eight matches in a row before beating herbert again in the first round of this tournament.

that was classic Carlos. Down 2-5 in the 2nd set against some mug, then focused for five games and won 7-5.
