Dubai Director Calls for WTA Point Deductions After Top Players Withdraw
Last updated 15 hours ago Tahlak criticized the late Friday evening withdrawals—Sabalenka citing a minor right hip issue and Swiatek mentioning a schedule change and mental unreadiness—arguing fines like Serena Williams' old $100,000 penalty are meaningless and pushing for 500- or 1,000-point ranking deductions instead. He plans to raise the issue at a Rome meeting with WTA representatives, highlighting organizers' huge investments in facilities while players skip amid a grueling post-Australian Open schedule that also saw pullouts from Karolina Muchova, Naomi Osaka, Madison Keys, and Qinwen Zheng. Coco Gauff defended the players, noting no one withdraws lightly given the tough calendar of back-to-back WTA 1000 events and existing penalties like ranking zeros, as the tournament still features 16 of the top 20 including herself and Elena Rybakina. |

Trainer incoming for Emma

1.2x Ruzic very skinny
By:
very and even more so now she's cacked her pants with the winning line in sight.

By:
pair of absolute mugs
By:
can always rely on raducanu these days to throw away any match she plays
By:
her serve used to be such an asset. not any more
By:
about to go from 2-0 to 2-6 in this deciding set. total rubbish
By:
incredible level of muggery this
By:
at this point it seems obvious she has an attitude problem which explains all the coaches. no fight at all to try to rescue this match

GSM Ruzic, 6 games in a row
![]() ![]() |
By:
Certainly something up with her. Hard to put a finger on. Motivation, entitlement, lack of fight, injury, mental health issues, injuries ?
By:
Compare the fight to Fritz, it's chalk and cheese in mentality, that's for sure.
By:
fils doing a raducanu now. breaks in his decider then gives it straight back to the first bp hes faced in the match
By:
Gets it right back after though as he has fight !

one thing i am thoroughly sick of though is how every time she loses lately the explanation is physical. she cannot possibly be having physical issues in every game she plays and if she is then why is she playing. such an easy out to say that these **** performances are because she isnt fit
By:
I so want her to do well, people who say she is rubbish clearly they know nothing as she is a very good tennis player, but as already said on here something is clearly wrong, she needs to go back and get Andrew Richardson who was her coach when she won the US open, surely he was doing something right, at the moment she is just getting worse.
By:
i doubt anyone on here thinks she is rubbish john and i certainly dont. but she is playing rubbish which is a different thing.
By:
By:
that being said I think her current slump is mostly injury related. Has never been fully fit this season.
By:
By:
i'm not having it caramba. the life of most tennis players involved playing when not fully fit. not a good enough excuse for the amount of wretched performances and results
By:
usual nonsense from gauff. nearly 10 dfs in just over a set.
By:
stupid crowd helping coco by calling mid rallies
By:
Been discussing the Emma situation last night too. Truly think she's a very very good tennis players. Think Caramba nailed it with calls for Petchey to come on full time if possible. Focus her, install fight, tweak what needs to be tweaked. So much seems to be in the mind for sure.

By:
sometimes you really do wonder if players want to lose. khachanov right now a prime example. wins the first set easy enough then broken at the start of the second and into nearly all return games to get the break back but doesnt do it. now in the decider hes spunked 15-40 twice.
By:
and now 0-30 on serve.
By:
very smelly this.
By:
Poor Badosa
1.6x backers 1st set cooked too |
By:
By:
Appears to be very fired up and wanting it.
By:
in that case he is beyond useless because his opponent is bang average
By:
2 of 5 bps saved by khachanov. his opponent 7 of 11. beyond useless and minnen did even worse earlier against rosatello. both monster favs also.
By:
mp gone. another bp. comedy. has khachanov seen who this guy has been losing to recently and he's about to lose to him because he can't get a break.
By:
gets the win but that was a proper embarrassment. i'd be walking off court very sheepishly if that was me. rubbish performance against what should have been an easy to beat opponent
