From listening to some of his recent stuff, Jim Cornette doesn't seem to fully understand why this has sold so well. He seems to think this is some anti-WWE agenda relating to Vince McMahon. I don't think that's anything to do with this at all. This is all about UK fans being willing to turn out in force for major events which they've wanted for ages but have mainly been starved of.

Some time ago Instagram suspended my account without any real reason. I was only browsing pictures and stories. I think they did it because I'm on linux and switched back and forth between multiple computers. They called is strange behaviour or something.
They asked for a phone number, which I had no intention to provide. I had no special attachment to the account beyond being miserable that I'd have to re-add all the tennis players to follow. Deleted cookies and stuff instead, made a new account, which however was suspended immediately. Waited a few weeks, begrudgingly provided a number. They sent me a code to the mobile, which I entered in the relevant prompt. After that, they then prompted me to get a blank sheet of paper, write a few things like my name and another code onto it and then take a selfie of myself holding that sheet of paper. I was like: "Dude, I'm not trying to verify myself to the highest level on a crypto exchange to trade millions on there" and now I'm without an Instagram account.  |

If my account had been flagged for trying to sell NFTs to unsuspecting people - fine - but I was literally only using it to browse the site better without ever uploading anything or interacting with people.

Maybe it's the lack of interaction combined with the lack of phone number? You're not using the account in a manner they deem "normal usage", perhaps? But I don't understand why it put you through all that extra security stuff when you tried to make a new account 2 weeks later? Either they changed their sign up protocols recently or the website was still identifying you from your device ID somehow? Do you use a VPN for Instagram? Doubt they were identifying you via IP address as you could simply restart your router and be assigned a new IP?

The extra stuff with the sheet of pape was with my original account after I had eventually decided to give them a phone number.

If I had the problem you had with your original account, after a few days my instinct would be to think "screw this, making a new account". This is what you did too. Find it weird it got banned straight away. maybe you should have made it through a VPN

My hypothesis is that the original account was suspended because I kept switching between laptops that used linux. The internet is still sometimes like "OMG LINUX, ITZ HACKORZ!!!! BAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".
The switching happening on minute timescales. In the week or so prior to the suspension they started making me do a few captcha checks. It's just a stupid website. |
