edy! Dortmund don't play defence

DEFENSE! DEFENSE! (was never heard in German football)

Donald 1.5x

Campaign been going brilliantly since the debate, where as Kamala has been verging on horrific since it.

what do your sources say caramba?

I got election burnout back in August, so not been paying as much attention to my sources as I did for a while.
Very hyped about it all now though. Would love to see the MAGA's again get owned again.

ffs I'm the latest post for 9 of the most recent 11 threads

I feel the actual election has come around really quickly. less than a week to go

and I can sense it's going to be a very crazy night next week

Lots of tears coming up from liberals and real conservatives.

well edy, tell me who will have the smiles?

Trump.

It will be like this but in super slimy.

oh. then what?

Then he will be sworn in with the bigliest inauguration crowd ever.

what's bigliest?

The superlative of bigly.

not big lie?

The Don is drifting....... driftingggggggggggg

Yeah, because of fake psyop polls, fake numbers being released and lots of Democratic hopium.

hopium?

Correct.

Like me right now hopiuming that Gauff starts misfiring her forehand.

what's the best coverage during election evening iyo?

For neutral reporting Aaron on X, followed by ABC News.

If you are more looking for entertainment, then Mike Lindell's RSBN.

so during election night you'll be watching ABC News as your main TV source?

No, RSBN.

I actually haven't really decided. I might start out on ABC News and then depending on who looks to be winning early on I might switch to either RSBN or CNN for all the copium.

do you think the event will hit the heights of excitement/drama we all expect?

Well of course.

Even if Harris wins every electoral college vote in the country.

Trump might play nice this time given his legal proceedings.

His supporters might not mind you. Same goes for Harris'. Think it's wise for the police and relevant teams are on high alert

ww, when is Kamala 1.70 happening?

(I think it will btw).

abandoned that a long, long time ago

I can't believe Elise sent me the divorce papers.

Kris Plis husband rising!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are these latest two posts about?

the first one is about Elise Mertens sending me divorce papers.

the 2nd I think Kris Plis husband doing well at soccerball.

I'm pretty sure you are not Hsieh.

he did very, very well. he scored the 3-3 goal which completed an amazing comeback from 3-0 down against Manchester City, gubbing them 1.01. the draw was matched at various prices all the way up to 1000

Correct, I'm a he.

....but the only Mertens divorce I can find is with Hsieh...

hey edy, I've got a random question for you. in general how do the German media view Harry Kane now he's been playing at Bayern Munchen for around 16 months now. thanks

Who's excited/concerned about the "Expert charge"?

As a decent enough striker.

ed if you get a few spare seconds can you do a post for me to wisewords if hes still around
the message is
Is Stephen Bunting the best of the best and does he belong with us?!?!

Cooper · 2:02 PM

hello Cooper! Stephen Bunting most certainly believes. he believes he's the best of the best and the Ally Pally will be Walking in a Bunting Wonderland on January 3rd! sadly, I think Peter Wright is going to break his little heart tomorrow night

A friend of mine noticed something funny about the darts final where one of the contestants (Littler) is under 18.
So some books are super scared about offering odds on players under 18 years old. This is to protect the young athletes so they are not exposed to bribes etc.
As a result of this one book did not offer odds on Littler in the final, but did offer odds on his opponent! Meaning if someone then wanted to pay 17-year old Littler to throw the match and bet on the opponent, they could do so.

In funsie recreational amateur sports, transgender competition should be embraced. This particular trans athlete also seems to absolutely blow too.

ask Cooper for a reaction also!

interesting
does a male have massive advantage over a female in fencing
Cooper · 1:49 AM

~12–40% sport performance advantage according to some study I found on Google. I found it interesting that they disqualified her for standing up for her own rights

ed can you ask wise if stephen bunting is confirmed the best of the best and does he belong with us??
Cooper · 10:09 PM

I think it has been confirmed tonight in Berlin that he is indeed THE BEST OF THE BEST (and he, with no doubt, belongs with us)

Your trans athlete was mentioned in a recent episode of Last Week Tonight with everyone's favourite Briton John Oliver that was about trans athletes in general.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flSS1tjoxf0

From a quick test with a VPN it is geoblocked in the UK, but maybe you have other ways to access the video or episode if you are interested.

It's only a very brief mention at the very start of the segment though.

Gonna twist out 'cause I got the skills (got the skills, got the skills)

I see there's the Janina Minge playing for Germany at the women's Euros.

Yes, but pronounced in two syllables with the Ming part being like King and overall kind of like Ming-eh.

English people don't know this.

BIG GRANTIE COOPER

I noticed the BBC refused to used the word Minge when Xu Minge was playing at Wimbledon, and instead used her nickname of Mimi

Her name is Mingge ffs.

Betty Stove

Gene and Sandy Mayer

Bill Scanlon and Johan Kriek

Mingge, Minge, it's pronounced the same way in English so doesn't matter

edy, I suppose United Kingdom makes sense these days, but should it have been United Queendom (aka UQ) until 2022?

That is an excellent question. I think kingdom, for all its evident inclusion of only king instead of queen, generally can stand for monarchies that are ruled by either a king or queen.

Therefore, the conclusion is that the political entity should not rename itself to United Kingdom or United Queendom respectively depending on the gender of the chief monarch. Looking at the future, I think we as humans should seek for a more universal term to replace the word kingdom. One that does not sound so gender specific. Once found, the UK should rename itself to include that term.

Actually, I think monarchy is already a pretty sweet and inclusive term. So by decree the United Kingdom will henceforth be known as United Monarchy.

edy called out on the football forum

Aspro • July 19, 2025 11:12 AM BST
I'm sorry Malay, but you're now "appearing" to take on the role of edy. I won't entertain him, you or anyone else who wants to play forum tennis; it's just not my thing.

He's been a bit mad at me ever since I sent just an ever so tiny ironic comment his way [emphasis mine]:

Aspro • July 19, 2022 6:33 PM BST
Personally I don't think he created it. He saw it, thought it funny and copied it, would be my best guess. I think you may be reading too much into it. Don't take life too seriously; it's soon over.

edy • July 19, 2022 6:36 PM BST
ffs, so you are just another anti-vaxxer like Timber constantly telling me I'll be dead any moment.

Aspro • July 19, 2022 6:36 PM BST
OK, you're boring me already with that statement. Have a good evening.

edy • July 19, 2022 6:37 PM BST
Have a splendidly fine evening yourself, good Sir!

Some talked among others about me in between...

Aspro • July 21, 2022 12:54 PM BST
Two days ago, on this very thread, was the first time I recall ever conversing with edy and after just a few posts I was accused of being an anti-vaxxer and saying he'll be dead at any moment, as noted above; neither of which are true. That was sufficient for me to make that my last conversation too. Very strange behaviour.

PorcupineorPineapple • July 21, 2022 1:04 PM BST
aspro - I think edy was having a joke with you with that post. Extra amusing for the context about everyone being too serious around it.

Aspro • July 21, 2022 1:13 PM BST
I'm not so sure PoP, but appreciate your input on it

edy • July 21, 2022 1:21 PM BST
My world-renowned German humour sometimes doesn't travel properly across a screen. I'm sorry if I caused genuine offence. It really was just an attempt at a joke as PorcupineorPineapple points out. It was really a three man conversation involving you, Timber and me at the point and Timber, since the beginning of time, has been in everyone's ear on here about vaccine's being satan's direct work, gleefully posting over and over that winter is coming and the vaccines will kill all us sheep etc.

And hey, you did write that my life will soon be over: "Don't take life too seriously; it's soon over."

...and then he repeated the same lack of understanding of fabulous German humour in another thread more recently.

can be a sensitive flower at times, but T*ttenham fans usually are, a good egg really though,

I went to search for Minge on twitter. It did not disappoint.

https://x.com/search?q=Minge&src=typed_query

(you might get different results if you are doing this when Germany ladies aren't playing football)

Surely there's no way Chloe Kelly wins SPOTY after doing this on BBC in the middle of the day?
https://x.com/JamesMartinTVR/status/1950161895932985530

Should be nowhere near any awards after that , unnecessary and classless ,apart from that if she's that good why is she always on the bench .

lol that's no big deal, as if any voter is ever going to care about that, got carried away in the moment, that was it, nothing to see here.

Feels weird to have Laura Robson do backstage interviews with GB curling team.

TNT Sport's broadcasts are awful though. At this stage there's a handful of medal events per day and instead of showing the cross country skiing they first showed the podium presentation for the downhill, then yapped on about that for about 20 mins, then did recaps of other events, then explained to all the dumb viewers what cross country skiing is only to finally join the 12 kilometers into a 20 kilometers race. Idiots.

sounds like they don't know what they're doing

whenever I heard The Fate of Ophelia on the radio I found myself starting to hear Luna's The Tower during the chorus. I thought it was just me, but for some reason today I decided to Google about it and it seems many others agree with me. can you believe Taylor ripped off Poland Eurovision?? the song didn't even make the final in 2024. I thought it was a really good song though and have posted lyrics from it on this forum in the past. can you believe Taylor did that?!?!

you think Iga sent her that Polish song, and told her to copy it?

100% sure that's exactly what happened

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESKG8Uo1YaU&list=RDESKG8Uo1YaU

I'm the one who built it, I'm the one who built it.. I'm the one who built the tower!

Laura Robson ran the London Marathon and did so at 3:28. She had previously said 3:30 was a dream result for her, so that was some clutch to get it done.

two minutes behind Woz's result from New York marathon 12 years ago (3:26).

what shoes did Laura run it in? that's the burning question here
