Total drama queen. From 4-1 to 4-5 0-30, then from 5-1 to 5-6 in the tiebreak to win in straight sets anyway.

Plan A: Hit it hard
If plan A fails -> hit it harder if plan b also fails -> hit it as hard as you can ...pretty much standard WTA tactics and game planning to be fair. |
By:
tbf, its the best tactic, which is why we unfortunately don't have forum fav. Monica Niculescu at No. 1 in the world

Love him or hate him, n88uk is literally the most informative tennis poster on here elf.
By:
I really hate n88 for the useful tennis related information he posts in the big tennis thread, how dare he
By:
like who even talks tennis information when you can talk bollocks about politics & wrastling of a country 1000s of miles away

Everyone in the lead in Beijing is absolutely collapsing massively from the lead since the resumption of play.

Anisimova and Diyas top of the pile who seemingly can barely win points from winning easily earlier. Pera nearly falling into whatever the apparent trap is, and I feel like there's one I've missed that's already finished.

Sabalenka good chance of breaking top 10 this year now. Win tomorrow and she's right behind Mertens.
By:
yeah her form is very good. can you name players better than her right now consistency wise?
By:
Siniakova playing Beijing qualies. she must be running on fumes
By:
Not really. The top players are mostly in awful form aren't they. I was looking at Singapore race and really it's open if you do make some huge runs because there's a bunch of players around 4k (which is normally enough), who are doing stone nothing in recent weeks.

Verdasco bullying Murray here. it's sad to see
By:
Was surprised Murray even beat Goffin tbh after what he offered previous round. Though Goffin did fly like half way around the globe in a few days to get here I guess.

By:
By:
but with the careers of Sharapova, Serena drawing to a close, it feels like there's no big bullies in WTA anymore to control things. it's great if you're a young player coming through. you can make your mark
By:
Depends, a lot of players are just plain finished this time of year. Some of those you mentioned, eg. Woz problems go back much longer.
By:
Sabalenka should win tomorrow really. She can do a Garcia and make Singapore obv which is what will be needed for her.
By:
Also a number seem to be injured or carrying something as well, which is norm just sign of spent at end of long season.
By:
Haven't watched enough to give an opinion on whether Sabalenka or Kontaveit will win tomorrow, but Kontaveit is no slouch. Any idea what time the final is scheduled for tomorrow (UK time)?
By:
what a terrible miss by Murray on that volley
By:
Midday UK time.
