The overall pot for this year's Wimbledon Championships totals £34million, with men and women's singles champions due to take home £2.25million each after the deciding matches this weekend.

I think it's probably overhyped anyway, imo it's likely just legislation in place for years, I doubt the locals would actually care if they played until midnight as a 1 off. There's already huge disruption during the Wimbledon 2 weeks to local, and that disruption doesn't end at end of play every day, you've got a huge number of people around. It's likely that's just something set in stone that they've never seen the need to seriously challenge as in theory you'd never think they'd need to play past 11pm anyway.

so the fine would likely be from £80k-£560k, don't know how much that is for them when you factor in goodwill with players, spectators, tv viewers etc. But if they can avoid the fine, they probably will.

When in London recently, while waiting for a friend there was like an estate agent thing for the local buildings, and I was looking at a few places. It's like £300-450k for a 1 bed flat, who the f is paying that ffs .

problem hasn't gone away because England are not in the final, the World Cup final attracts an audience of 1 billion - that will take away a lot of Wimbledon's viewership when the two overlap, it's just ridiculous that Wimbledon wont reschedule imo, like cutting your nose to spite your face, WCF is once every 4 years so more people more likely to watch that at home than Nadal/Novak v Anderson.

My area is not cheap I'm pretty sure by country standards, but London prices are truly a disgrace. Like unless you can afford the multi-million mansions, I have no idea why you'd choose to live there tbh. You can get so much better value just a bit outside London.

that's nothing,the estate agents near the Barbiacan arts and theatre advitise studio flats in tower blocks such as the Barbican one's that go for 600k plus on the 20th floor
