Er I would say the likes of Birmingham the average person you sit around there is much, much more knowledgeable than Wimbledon CC, I mean you hear garbage but it's nothing like Wimbledon CC. If you've ever been to O2 it's like there, I mean they aren't necessarily people who follow tennis daily, but the fans know their stuff, on CC the fans don't know anything.

It's been hot for 2 weeks, the grass is hard and the ball is bouncing higher which is why Nadal is past the first week for the first time in 7 years so he would stand just a chance of beating Federer this year if they had met should I say.

n88 you can't possibly have a great idea of this sort of thing unless you're there every year and really know the whole of the 13,000 people present, every slam is going to have casuals taking in the tennis not really knowing what they're looking at.

Birmingham most the funnier stuff comes from hearing the little kids and what they say, some of what they say can be hilarious.

Tomorrow's schedule is gonna be insane. They've already put 1 out with 3 finals, but at least 1 of those surely has to move. But when do you actually start this? Putting them out at midday after finishing at 11pm is quite a quick turnaround. Normally they put matches out like 1pm after finishing like 9pm, but I can't imagine they want to move the women's final out of its 2pm slot.

This will be played after the women's final. The men's final surely has to be moved to Monday now?

You don't need to go every year Mes, I've been Wimbledon loads, not like the target audience has changed, the audience on CC is the same as it was 10 years ago mostly. Same type of people.

Imo that will not happen Wisewords, I can't see them needlessly doing that.

So you're suggesting Nadal an Djokovic won't get a rest day before the final? they'll be made to play on Sunday regardless?

Well yer if there's anyway they can finish tonight and just f it you would think that is most optimal, but I'm not sure how possible that actually is.

just seems like an illogical sweeping statement to say most of the crowd don't know what they're looking at or understand tennis, pretty sure the US open judging by their mannerisms such as constantly overspilling their cheers/jeers into a players new serve from the previous point.

Yes Wisewords, if anything they are still likely to be in better shape than Anderson anyway.

Any slam has its fair share of mugs, but Wimbledon has the super clueless because the % of tennis fans in there is so low. USO is just like most events, you will see mugs, but no more than anywhere else.

what I do agree with is that most of the crowd are probably not the sort that works in factories as Navratilova said judging by the many interviews with fans over the years.

Depending on who you are watching at USO my impression of USO also there is many more tourists there than at Wimbledon.

The thing is they didn't even move to Monday final in like 2007 when Nadal played 6 straight days before the final, I can't see how they'd possibly justify it here. Had England been in World Cup final it might have been a good excuse to do it actually and solve another problem, but that problem is gone now.

11pm then it’s £20,000 fine per quarter hour over that, doubling every hour from the last. It’s the same fine that governs arenas and stadia in the UK, unless licence extension is applied for 90 days before a event. Wimbledon broke it once before for a Djokovic match!

most working class people not gonna book a couple days off for queuing and then actually watching the tennis I would guess

the issue is, if the match could finish by 11:30 or midnight then they might think ok

what if it went on til 2am or something stupid?

I can't see them breaking it tbh. I'm just curious when they put them on tomorrow. Midday probably is still most likely, but it's hardly ideal for each player (but no scenario is), that's a pretty quick turnaround.

It depends what you want to do Aaron, say this set finishes at 10:40pm, do you chance it and hope it ends in 4, a bit of a gamble really, as it goes 5 you achieve nothing.

I think most likely they're gonna call it at end of this set unless this set ends very quickly (so 6-4).

then they should just take it from Novak's and Rafa's pay cheques for the tournament.
