No markets for Laver Cup I see yet. Starts on Friday I think.

Del Potro withrew and Tiafoe replaced him so it's even more one sided on paper now.
Catch 22 really. If players don't take it seriously event is sure to flop long term. If they do take it seriously it looks a massacre on paper. Nadal, Federer, Zverev, Cilic, Thiem, Berdych vs Querrey, Isner, Kyrgios, Sock, Shapovalov, Tiafoe 5 top 10 players vs 0 top 10 players. |
By:
Should have made it players who speak fluent German vs those who don't.

I assume the order captains choose is anonymous and it's not setup for certain matches to happen. Otherwise you'd be sending Kyrgios to face Nadal as McEnroe like 100%. If it's anonymous probably try and order it so you throw the matches vs the best names on Europe with your weaker players and target the last 3 as wins.
I am like 99% sure we're getting Nadal/Federer doubles at some point as they have been talking about that from the start, there's only 3 doubles matches (1 each day), probably be Saturday or Sunday them though, probs Saturday as last match Sunday probably be all over by then. |

I dunno how much commercial interests play a part too. Eg. there's 9 singles matches which means only 3 players play twice. But eg. is Berdych likely to play twice because he's at home. Then again I assume best commercial interests is to roll Federer and Nadal out twice which is their best options anyway.
By:
In fact roll them out every day if you include playing them together in doubles is probably what will happen I imagine.

Berdych not even invited to team bondings obv. |
By:
If it wasn't for Nadal I would assume German would be the common language too.
By:
Isn't that Berdych behind Zverev?
By:
Oh yer, so it looks like, well spotted.
By:
Dzumhur doing his "bit".
By:
Isn't Donna ranked a bit highly to be vulturing ITF's these days (or maybe not vulturing given the current scoreline).
By:
Interesting scheduling from Zverev too. He's playing this in Prague this weekend. He plays Shenzhen next week.
By:
Thiem plays Chengdu next week.
By:
Berdych is also in Shenzhen with Zverev.

If Cornet loses in Guangzhou Zhang is the only seed left in QF.

St. Petersburg has the best entertainment between matches and during other breaks in play out of all tournaments year in year out.

7 bagels, and every match unders. looks like a fun tournament
silent protest to not getting poisoned by breathing in hope none of you get up for this shit |
By:
not everyday you get to see a parallel double bagel in action. was worth every second.
By:
would argue that it was more enjoyable my looking up the scores while having half a sip of coffee and raising an eyebrow 1/8 of an inch all in less than one second
By:
but i'm a thrillseeker
By:
For all the Cornet drama, she has only retired 4 times in her career.
By:
all the Cornet dramas sort of blend into one for me, the only one that stands out was that dying swan routine where animal control had to come to drag her to the bench
By:
there was also the one where opponent threatened to sue.
By:

Drama has arrived. One can't breathe properly and is getting treatment, the other one is in tears.
