Sloane can be super charming, especially when things are going her way, but I didn't care much for her attitude back when there was drama with Serena, the whole twitter beef, the fistpumping in the gym when Serena lost to VIP, and there was other stuff as well. Tbf most of this is 3-4 years ago and maybe she's matured since.

Yeah Sloane did some things wrong back then, but Serena also deleted Sloane from Blackberry Messenger and unfollowed her on Twitter because Sloane owned her at the Aus Open SF...

Svitolina does this a lot though, just looks average at the big moments. The Halep match could have been a defining match for her, but she should have already been out there if Martic didn't bottle it.
She just looks completely weaponless too often in grand slams. |

Even in early rounds her she was looking very average. It's like I say, at what point has she ever looked remotely likely at a grand slam? For an hour vs Halep, and that's about it.

As you said the other day, Svitolina plays down to her opposition far too often. Also goes completely passive whenever the pressure is one even though she can play a very nice controlled aggressive game from both wings.

There's more to it than just what Caramba said, but that covers some of it. She also come across really arrogant at 1 point, and massively like the success in 2013 had gone to her head around end of 2013, 2014.

Keys has been the best part of this slam for me. Always said she had the game for a slam (when Serena was away) and she seems thoroughly likeable. If she plays as she has done last 2 matches then she will make that premonition an actuality.

The thing is I saw this on TF, but Svitolina has a bad record against a number of big hitters who generally have awful records vs defensive players. Gotta be something in that. Keys is another one.
But yer Svitolina isn't stepping up enough. It's weird because her step up matches are stuff vs like Woz in finals, vs Halep, vs Pliskova etc. |

I saw that regarding Keys, n88. I forgot the number, but something like 0-12 against the good defensive players/counterpunchers, but 2-0 against Svitolina now.

She's in that same bracket as like Pliskova who has just been #1 of course, Svitolina could be it soon, yet they are totally anonymous at these events, only reason the events even put them on top courts is because they are ranked high.
