Constant Lestienne banned for seven months for betting on 220 matches
http://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/37427243 |
By:
You are more likely to get banned for betting on matches than fixing matches seemingly.
By:
these naive tennis players must be betting under their own names while all the badass fixers of course employ sophisticated masking methods.
By:
It's just because fixing is harder to prove with cast iron evidence whereas I assume these people ares stupid enough to betting in their name to get caught, because I assume they wouldn't get caught tbh if they were doing it in someone elses name.
By:
Lestienne lost his wildcard for betting 3 euro on the Stan-Novak final or so the story went but I guess they knew about all this too
By:
He's stupid to flagrantly break the rules, but really there has to be bigger fish to fry, ie. the actual fixers. There's plenty at challenger level they could be going after who are actually fixing rather than this guy.
By:
like that one guy that was banned by the Italian Federation but still plays challengers every week because for whatever reason the TIU can't be arsed to ban him?
By:
Ceccinato
By:
yes, I think that might've been his name
By:
wrong spelling though I'm sure

muggiest comment I've ever heard at 4.08 into this video https://www.nhl.com/video/nhl-tonight-future-of-the-wch/t-278910374/c-44802903 ... |

Kasatkina must have entered Wuhan late given she is in qualifying.
By:
More garbage from Sam Smith "The Olympic champion Monica Puig showing us exactly why she won that gold medal".
Down 6-2, 4*-3? |
By:
Literally a few mins later her co-comm Keothavong "It just hasn't worked for her today".

Radwanska had 8 aces. Was her opponent Belinda?

By:
More aces than Kvitova managed in 3 sets against Puig earlier this week

Has Fissette been sacked yet after that?
By:
You really can't stand the sort of Fissette possibly not being available for Vika after having given birth, can you?
By:
*the thought of Fissette
By:
Would like her to link back with Sascha as a #1 priority.
By:
At the rate Stephens is going though Vika will be back before her.
By:
What is even Stephens' injury?
By:
right foot injury
By:
Should that take so long? She's not a tall, heavy NBA player.
By:
Foot. But I won't be surprised if her season is done given she's out of at least Wuhan, and it's starting to get less likely as the weeks past she will return at all this year.
By:
Well most bizarre I would say is Sascha Tweeted how he would be returning and looking forward to it tomorrow over a month ago now. That was before New Haven. Over a month later and Stephens still isn't playing.
By:
That could be as much about her not being in the mood for asia and europe indoors as it is about the foot injury
By:
Well that's part of why it's hard to see her back because if she doesn't play Beijing is she really going to fly all that distance just for 1 international at the end of the season? I would lean towards no regardless, and she won't qualify for Zhuhai.
By:
Lisicki is not on the Tashkent main draw entry list ffs
By:
Bouchard sounds like her season might be over too. Not really clear why. She wants to get right apparently. She's out of Asia, and she might take a break from tennis in order to sort herself out (still entered in like Luxembourg I think).
