yes, it was delightful.

Too bad we'll probably end up hiring a no-hoper tomorrow or Monday to replace the coach that lit some fire on the team for the last two games.
By:
Why would you do that?
By:
because the coaching position for the last two games was helmed by the only 37 year old U23 coach and they want someone more experienced at the top level.
By:
who's available
By:
i.e fired Skripnik last Saturday, U23 coach took over temporarily while Werder finds a coach. It's not impossible that he used his chance and will be allowed to stay, but I think Werder will sign someone else to do the job in the coming days.

Experience, smehperience. When Barcelona hired Guardiola, his only experience was managing the B team.
By:
He was probably around 37 at the time too.
By:
I hope for you you don't get Van Gaal Edy. Not if you plan on actually watching Werder games.
By:
apparently Markus Gisdol was favourite, but rumour has it he made Werder wait because he was wishing for HSV to lose and sack Labbadia this weekend so he can get hired by the Hamburgers. Makes him super less sympathetic immediately.
Oooooooooooooor, Werder just plays games to raise the price HSV has to pay for him ![]() |
By:
who
By:
He rescued Hoffenheim once
By:
oh
By:
Werder had 5 reserves on the bench today
In a home game. Werder players get injured too easily. Apart from Pizarro and Fritz (who rarely gets injured), the players aren't even ancient. |

thought Werder 2 were good

as for watching games: At this point I'd prefer a season or two full of 0-0 or 1-0 victories compared to the 0-6 losses I've seen way too many of since ~2011
By:
0-6 losses are cool
By:
you should have just got relegated and could have had cool wins
By:
no
By:
getting relegated sucks
By:
getting promoted is cool
By:
but lots of teams that get relegated from the top league never make it back and spend their days in meaninglessness. Just look at the Wolves
By:
English championship is strong
Bundes 2 sucks, Werder would lose like 1 game ![]() |
By:
Don't know the system in Germany. But in England the system is getting more and more stacked to get promoted soon after relegation which is why a lot of the teams recycle.
Basically if you get relegated you get parachute payments for 5 years. These parachute payments are going up enormously in recent years with the explosion in TV money for the Premier League. Which is why the same teams tend to recycle up and down. |
By:
Teams still recycle because they keep some Bundesliga players, and often still have more money due to bigger fanbase an having been in Bundesliga, but I'm not aware of any parachute payments. If you are in 2. Bundesliga you get the tv money for 2. Bundesliga for that year and nothing else I think.
By:
It's massively stacked in England. This is why the top teams in Championship will go around spending like £10m+ on players, while the bottom teams can't even afford to pay £1m for 1 player.
By:
but as you'll know we introduced relegation playoffs a few years ago, which is in favour of the Bundesliga teams
By:
for one of them each year at least
By:
10m on all players or 10m for a single player?
By:
1 player. Plenty of Championship sides spent £10m+ on 1 player this summer.
By:
But they're all the ones that have been relegated recently.
By:
Werder record most expensive player ever was 8.2million Euro
By:
during their CL days
By:
spent a rumoured 7.5m on Kruse this summer after having sold Ujah and Vestergaard for a combined ~25 million
