Well I could get an expert and you could get an expert, and we would be none the wiser. The problem with 'experts' in the political and economic fields is that the are ideologically driven, a place where logical and reason are given a back seat to assert a position or policy. The epistemology value of their assertions have to be taken with caution. If fact, they should be challenged, and there is little chance of that happening in the media today. However, that does not mean people haven't questioned the 'experts' and issues for themselves - many have.
In many respects, the Brexit vote was a positive action for many people: taking a gamble - deciding on change is a better course of action then continuing with a system that has not worked for them. Things really are that bad for them - and they have been ignored. People are listening now though, aren't They? The Remainers still feel that they have some sort of intellectual authority the lecture. No. The level of collective cognitive dissonance with some Remainers is disturbing. |
