You can statistically prove what you are arguing in that thread which I'm just reading now Edy.It's pretty easy to prove really. Radwanska started 13/2 to win YEC. Would she ever start anywhere near that price to win a grand slam right now, even without Serena in it (bare in mind Serena was 6s at one point, so not like everyone was going to come massively crashing down from where they were).YEC format is normally stacked in favour of the favourite, though everyone is still more likely to win it than a grand slam. However last year there was no runaway favourite in the draw, which drastically shortened everybody's chances of winning.

great thinking, but I'm actually not looking to argue too much with ;[p about this. He's clearly drunk and delusional again

fake fan because I'm cheering for the HSV to beat the team that could move ahead of Werder and put them on a relegation spot again?

It feels like we don't actually have much of the usual bs around Serena defeats. Not much moaning about her being at 20%, 2/10. Serena fans seem pretty gracious on the whole.

did Serena actually finally lose a match where she didn't play badly
By:

Oh for sure they can. I've seen absolute meltdowns at Serena defeats in the past. Not really that here.

Most the seethers seem to be Halep, Radwanska and Wozniacki fans.

first Serena fan I read on TF was Trizap saying how Serena only lost because she was nervous

Serena wasn't that bad I didn't think apart from at net where she was woeful.

first set was bad, third set she was just outplayed

I don't know what she was doing at net, she had a plan to come forward a lot, it was executed very badly, but in part it was because her volleys were so bad. She wasn't bending her knees at all, and was just pure upper bodying all her volleys. This means 1 of 2 things happens, they either loop deep in the court for Angie to get another chance which she took advantage a lot of, or they simply go long. You can't play a drop volley like that.

Serena was 15/32 at net to support my point.
By:

And I suspect a lot of those wins, were overheads and not volleys.
By:

When: 30 Jan 16 16:40
That's still a dreadful stat line though. You want to be winning 80%+ at net if coming forward is part of your strategy.
By:

When: 30 Jan 16 16:41
She showed how bad her hands are sure, but I think a lot of the missed volley had to do with a) coming in at horrible times to begin with and b) Kerber doing an exceptional job at putting the ball beyond Serena's reach or at her shoelaces
