in their first encounter here serena gifted the first, but she did not gift the second. Halep was very VERY good in the second, particularly when serena seemed to be finding her step.
bit more smarts in her last match and halep might have been focused and fresh enough here, but there's no doubt that Serena was much more focused here but Halep was very flat. |

Halep had zero answers when Serena upped it even a bit today. As I've said when Serena starts doing that you have to come at her big, Halep didn't, and was pretty poor after she got broken back for 2-2 in the first.

Serena would have been criticized no matter what she'd have done, the exception being if she had gone on to beaten Serena in the finals. If she ever writes an autobiography it will be interesting to hear her reasoning on this.
