Obviously has a huge serve, for me he has been somewaht disappointing, not sure he has the movement to win on grass. Even if he beats Fed there is no way I see him beating Djokovic who could nullify his serve to some degree.

Think today will be end of the line for him - players like Nishi (poor on grass) and Kyrgios (was knackered) gave him problems - can't imagine Fed will fail to do so much more today.
Report stu July 4, 2014 11:14 AM BST
May not bet though, as prices prob about right - maybe just a game to watch this one.
Report AFL July 4, 2014 11:27 AM BST
Think he wins including the final.

Kyrgios took out Nadal in the best performance of the tourn. Considering Nadal actually played well

and did not hand it to him.

Raonic was clinical the way he took out Kyrgios.

The formline to follow in this tourn.

Raonic wins the lot. imo
Report stu July 4, 2014 11:29 AM BST
AFL - Do you think he's also got the mental strength to beat the most elite in this stage though? One thing beating lower players, now he's got the biggies.
Report stu July 4, 2014 11:30 AM BST
Fed's second home is centre court, Raonic will be shaking going out there.
Report Patb July 4, 2014 11:35 AM BST
MR has made it clear that his aim is steady progress. Getting to the semi of a GS fits in with this but Fed is very good at moving oponants around the court when required and movement is not MR's strongest point. If the serving is good, then perhaps the first set IMHO
Report AFL July 4, 2014 11:36 AM BST
Yes good points. Not sure if he will fold mentally, but surely the Kyrgios Nadal match told him something about that. Wink

Djoker owns Rancid
Report stu July 4, 2014 11:39 AM BST
So does Fed in terms of H2H (4-0, latest meeting was straight sets)
Report stu July 4, 2014 11:56 AM BST
Can see potential for lot of missed first serves and doubles for Raonic today.
Report son of a gun July 4, 2014 12:20 PM BST
Raonic is a perfect opponent for Fed: tall, one-dimensional and bad defensivley, he will be fed the Federer backhand slize all day long, as simple as that.
Report YOMOMMA July 4, 2014 1:14 PM BST
Raonic is utter crap, worse than Dimitrov. If he beats Federer I'll give you the money myself. Take away Raonic's serve and you're left with someone worse than Tim Henman.
Report YOMOMMA July 4, 2014 1:16 PM BST
There will be no Wettquoten on Milos Raonic ever.
Report Platini July 4, 2014 1:24 PM BST
I'd be surprised if he beat Fed (even an old Fed), but even if he does, Joker or Dimitrov will be rubbing their hands.
Report YOMOMMA July 4, 2014 1:27 PM BST
Problem for Raonic is once he gets in to rallies with Federer he won't even win 33% of them. He just isn't a good enough a tennis player. Needs a lot of improvement on his game before he can challenge at the top.
Report GWB_III July 4, 2014 2:05 PM BST
Raonic can't sustain rallies with any of the top players. IMO he doesn't stand a chance against a returner like Djokovic. But... if he serves really well vs. Fed he has a chance at a couple of tiebreaks. His ground game when he is ultra aggressive and hits the ball really hard and deep is not too bad either. If he hits a lot of those backhand slice shots that work against the muppets, Fed is going to rip him apart. IMO we'll know within half a set if he has a chance.
Report Platini July 4, 2014 2:40 PM BST
I see him beating Fed in tie-breaks, but will Fed let it get to TBs?
Report stu July 4, 2014 2:43 PM BST
Think more can Raonic keep up his serving level is the question - if not then Fed will break him.
Report sickoflayinwinners July 4, 2014 5:51 PM BST
raonic looks one tricky(big srve) pony in all truth.

Sorry! I got a middle on aces handicap. It didn't look at all likely but then Raonic hit loads of aces 2nd and 3rd set. He serves on average more than 1 ace per service game. Free point per game.
Report judorick July 4, 2014 7:33 PM BST
sure he has plenty of limitations but will earn a very good living with them, needs to improve plenty to lift titles
Report Platini July 4, 2014 9:35 PM BST
he'll never win anything playing with a stookie Laugh
Report Davy Jones July 4, 2014 10:50 PM BST
Glad he lost, reminded me of tennis at it's most boring. He looks like he should be in the Jersey Boys.
Report mesmerised July 5, 2014 3:24 AM BST
If this one trick pony ever wins a slam I'll never watch tennis again
Report stu July 5, 2014 8:26 AM BST
A little harsh - he's similar to Rafter or Phillopusus in his game. Old school big serve game. If anything, an achievement that he's doing so well with such an old school game, as big servers don't dominate these days.
Report stu July 5, 2014 8:27 AM BST
However, he can't serve/volley the way they did. Maybe he should try to.
Report Davy Jones July 5, 2014 9:22 AM BST
Exactly - need to play at the net with that serve, he isnt good enough at back of th court.
Report dlarssonf July 5, 2014 9:26 AM BST
He is nothing like Rafter or Phillopusus, they could get to the net , by the time Raonic gets to the net its like he has been in quicksand for an hour
Report stu July 5, 2014 9:27 AM BST
Even more impressive that he made the semi then!
Report dlarssonf July 5, 2014 9:35 AM BST
Oh yeah he can only beat what's in front of him fair enough on that point.  But he is really a poor player, rafter in particular had a lot to his game, Raonic doesn't imo
Report YOMOMMA July 5, 2014 9:48 AM BST
I have to agree. Raonic has little to his game bar his serve. As I said in a previous post take away his serve and he's worse than Tim Henman.
Report stu July 5, 2014 9:59 AM BST
That's bit like saying 'take away Djokers baseline play'
Report stu July 5, 2014 10:00 AM BST
...and he'd be worse than Andrew Castle!
Report YOMOMMA July 5, 2014 10:04 AM BST
But being able to rally is an integral part of the game.
Report dlarssonf July 5, 2014 10:11 AM BST
been able to hit two shots in a row is integral to the game!!!  Djokovic is a class player, raonic is eh s hit

yes, mug statement when people say that about big servers

Report mesmerised July 5, 2014 11:14 AM BST
no it's not, being a big server is a natural weapon when you're that tall and strong, it's just a matter of executing a good serve which comes easier in time with muscle memory as it does with any server, as well as having time to think whereas baseline rallying you have to make constant split second decisions, it requires more skill and an aptitude for quick thinking,
