Some cheap nasty meat can contain chemicals. Horsemeat can contain bute, which is dangerous to humans.

oh it's just personal preference. nothing wrong with meat of horse at all, some people will tell you it's better than the finest steak of beef in fact. we always had smoked horse meat in the house when i was growing up and ate it many times.
popular brand of frozen burgers here have horse meat in em, just says so on the side of the pack  |

i don't panic about it. i'm not adverse to the idea of eating a horse. like you say, it seems very similar to a cow. but i don't want to be poisoned by chemicals. and it would be nice if what you buy contains the meat stated on the packet

you are perfectly right and i dont eat horse myself but as i said the other meat can be polluted as well with some dead pig from romania or so,you will never know even label says its perfectly breeder yorkshire piglet , no sense of panic agout those things.but at least its some fun on the news instead of bombs attacks

i saw documentary about fat melting from decayed bones, fungus and everything, processed in margarine about two decades ago. was just around the corner in Belgium. i only buy real butter for last twenty years

"processed meat" dont buy it if you see it on can or prepared food,basically on every cheap one, its what nofx described mechanically squeezed fat and meat from bones tendons and other scraps which left ,always in some percentage in cheap food
