tasngo, when that happens it's annoying, but with betting as in life, it's better to try and succeed and lose, then not to try as well. In this case, to try, not be matched, and see it succeed with ease. The worse. I think 12 hours sleep in 96 hours isn't helping my cause to be rational!

Prize funds should do with the popularity .:. revenues created by that sport. I've no idea, but didn't someone once say WTA had better viewing figures so if anything they should be paid more. I certainly don't buy they only play bo3 over bo5 argument. Revenues are king.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the WTA is an extremely marketable product, much more so than the men's game (except for the very elite players - Fed etc.)

The Bo3/5 argument is pointless. You might as well pay them by the point, or minute, or entertainment value, if you're going to use that as an excuse.

'didn't someone once say WTA had better viewing figures'

Cool. Didn't seem to ring true to me either Don. Wonder what the figures are for the b2b masters.

The market moves so much for Laura missing her first serve, it's incredible, but sadly probably correct

For some reason the commentators do like to talk in odds or betting terms but you're right RMB, they usually have no clue what the odds should be

I'd agree that Kvitova was too short, but not that short.

They're massive short termists, so anyone taking the 2nd set going into a decider in WTA will always be favourite.

We hear the same thing each year about robson and her potential.  Problem is that she just hasn't inproved/got significantly better.  Extremely limited and overhyped player.

didn't they say that they would put laura as a fav between the 2nd and 3rd sets?

I took Kvitova on at 1.13 quite heavily but left the 1.55 at the start of the decider so this collapse is obvious. Just wish the commentators were right as would have switched at 2.0 or levelled in between.

She hasn't improved? She's 18, won a gold medal last year and got to the fourth round of the US Open in quite spectacular fashion.
