Sadly I just think Robson ain't that good. |
|
By:
not every woman can run heptathlon ffs ,only one who are suited
|
|

speaking about not so slim ladies anybody saw Gavrilova today? She must be expecting a delivery in a few months

david mercer having to apologise for calling laura robson fat, when she was fat, was a disgrace.
if these girls want the same prize money as the men, then firstly they will accept that they will be judged as being elite professional athletes, not as little girls. carrying extra weight is not the hallmark of an elite professional athlete. |

The hotel reason for the women mostly being fat don't stand up why ain't the men like it Serena and Kim show you cn be part time and come back and win as you like if you get fit first |
|
By:

|
By:
At least Serena admits to being 11 stone nowadays, she used to say 9 stone, which was just embarrassing everyone.

Break Robson :)
|
|
By:
i used to be an apologist as well ;[p. not any more I'm afraid.
and tell me this: what would you attribute at least part of Safina's success under Krajan (who's now coaching Laura) to. and for that matter, Kvitova's wimbledon win. (it's the same answer) |
|
By:
As for getting equal money we had one of the men collapse and put on a trip he tried so ard
No women other than maybe serena would do the same As fr playing five sets none could I watched woozy earlier nd was expecting her to pull out a kebab at the change arounds a total disgrace her top of the fat list |
|
By:
Totally. Some of the players are just too skinny, which makes those who are fighting weight look fat to some observers.
I bet you're the one who's taking down the whale in the corner on a saturday night? |

Women's hormones don't automatically cause noticeable weight fluctuations, only imbalances do.
Not every woman can do the heptathlon well, but 99% of women can get themselves in the best possible shape to do it if they look after themselves. 'tennis is mortechnical than endurance to some extend'. Yes, that's exactly why female players can get away with being fat; it doesn't mean that they shouldn't strive to be in the best possible shape that they can in order to do justice to themselves and the sport. I'm not necessarily talking about these two players, but players like Paszek and Pavlyuchenkova. Laura can probably be slightly leaner but it's not a priority for her; Kvitova is definitely carrying too much weight in the lower stomach and on her chest, but the second of those is mostly genetic and the first is probably due to a genetic fat storage pattern too. It doesn't mean that she couldn't reduce the problem herself, but it is likely she will never completely eliminate it. But she is the single women's player on tour who has a noticeable genetic problem with localised fat storage. I agree that a lot of the 'fat' female tennis players would probably look good next to the average woman. But they are sportswomen, not 'average women'. It also tells you something about the shape that the 'average woman' is in. Darlo: I agree with you entirely that some players are too skinny, but putting fat on is not the answer. Fat can give you power to some degree, but that's the wrong way to go about generating it because it compromises all other aspects of your game. More women need to do what Stosur has done and build some lean body mass (muscle) and actual strength. The reason why some players are too skinny is that they've managed their training nutrition in a way that has put them in a calorie deficit for a sustained period without the necessary strength training and protein intake to maintain muscle mass and correspondingly strength. They don't need to put on the same amount of upper body mass that Stosur has done, though; she has made a personal choice in that regard. If you look up rock climbers or gymnasts, they are usually extremely strong without putting on excess muscle mass; strength to bodyweight ratio can be developed to an extraordinary degree. Said my piece now ![]() |
