if you're going to have an event like this why not youngest winner, highest achiever fastest rising sort of players. instead of the wildcards at least. you could easily set up rules for it, like a promise tournament or something. what's the point of having a the best eight players in one , then having eight more who really aren't the best next eight either Crazy

they should have Coco Vandeweghe play. I remember when her mom coached her against Serena in Stanford final and said "You're a great champion (and I love you very very much)". That should have been enough to qualify for this tourney imo.

Vandeweghe's mom Laugh

Not sure if it was the same match, but I remember her starting an on-court coaching session with "Hey sweetie, that was fun, wasn't it? Happy"

...So nice

I was on Coco at the time and remember thinking "Well, that 's very maternal and nice of you Coco's mom, but I don't think it will help Coco to beat Serena".

What a shame for Sabine that Australian Open switched from all green to all blue. Sabine made her first appearance there in 2008, the same year they switched, and did ok reaching 3rd rd, but imagine the things she could have accomplished there on all green courts.

it's not her fault that the english mugs on here that only watch wimbledon and the other grass events thinks she is a top 5 player and start threads about her accordingly.
