no, just trying to heal her breaking down body. Shoulder is supposedly better than it has been in a long time. She's missing the asian swing because of illness.

was it the norwegian/asian umpire?

i think we're having momentary communication meltdown. but it's all good, it's late and the weeds and whatnot
would also like to see Vera comeback |

poor vera, still good few years in her

it's not really late, it just feels like it

![]() I forgot to mention that she just recently got herself a new coach for the new season too. So I really, really doubt she's retiring this year. |
By:
she fired the towel huh
By:
Or at least I thought I read that. Couldn't find it in a very quick search
By:
Hey, having the towel was good. No once per set limit for on-court coaching because the WTA simply doesn't consider the towel a real coach.

ah, there it is
Julian Vespan is said to be Vera's new coach, he coaches Alisa as well. http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php? p=22268985&postcount=14 |

WTA/ATP are considering banning the towel from the tour, since Söderling and Zvonareva are both out with illness after using the towel above the head tactic.
By:
You think it's like steroids? A performance enhancing towel that momentarily raises your career into heights you could've never dreamed of before showing it's very ugly, negative long-term effects that destroy your career?
By:
hahahaha good one
By:
it raises doubts for sure. don't get me started on genetically engineered towels now
By:
Edy, something like that yeah. Söderling really played with fire, because on top of his towel use he was also coached by Fredrik Rosengren, who earlier coached Mario Ancic whose career was ruined by mono, so it was bound to end in disaster for Robin.
By:
killah towels same like gsngs of road signs in monty python?
By:
We shouldn't have too high hopes of them being outlawed completely. WADA and the ITF are doing a very sloppy job in enforcing their anti-doping policy.
Wouldn't be surprised if in the future there would even be a drastic increase of therapeutic use exemptions for PETs. |
By:
I don't know it happened but that's a reasonable assumption to make.
By:
*know how
By:
;[p no basically these are just really annoying and can ruin 21 mins of otherwise quality television |
By:
Or it really is only the towels and the Rosengren thing is just a coincidence.
Look at the shocking evidence I found http://po4ep.s3.amazonaws.com/785/l/8719697.jpg That's Mario Ancic! |
By:
There's something strange with Swedish coaches training methods. Don't forget that Federer, who has been coached by Peter Lundgren earlier, also caught mono eventually. I fear for Masha.
By:
Now we just need to find a picture of Federer with the towel above his head and we can throw the Rosengren/Swedish coach theory out the window for now. |
By:
those calves... i'm not sure. might be Vera
By:
Maria had a big shoulder injury. Tommy Haas, who has also been coached by Thomas Hogstedt, has had three big shoulder surgeries.
Coincidence? I don't think so lads.... |

so were stuck with that shouting for another ten years?

Don't think Federer ever used the PET in high doses like Ancic/Söderling and Zvonareva.
He did certainly use it in smaller doses however http://gototennis.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Federer_towel.jpg Probably did it to limit the side effects, but also to raise less suspicion. The man never sweats, why would he need to use a towel if it wasn't performance enhancing? |
By:
maria needs a towel over hear head during the points actually. hope towel see that and mske a move in the future

Couldn't find a towel above the head pic for Federer, but while googling I found another tidbit. Remember when Jimmy Jump attacked Fed at French Open final in 2009? It just became clear to me what he was trying to do, end Roger's career by putting a piece of cloth above his head. Granted it was a flag and not a towel so it might not have worked, but the intent was clearly there.

what about roddick he used to throw the towel with such disgust like it was its fault.maybe it was? maybe someone provided fake pet's to rod all this years and thats why he was such a ****

it's one of those history deciding moments. had he succeeded we'd all be inches away from referring to Andy as Goat by now and none of us would even know what gluten meant
