Another epic thread in the making. This tournament turned out to be really funny in the later stages.
By:
epic like Ferrer thread..?
![]() |
By:
Even better, although Ferrer one was funny I wasn't around throughout, 5 setters are freaking long.
This one is gonna be nice little 3 setter with lots of seething ![]() For the record, I am not involved in this yet but 1.47 is firmly in the "you have got to be freaking kidding me" category. |
By:
backing Ferrer 1.4, topping up 1.8, and doing nothing.. you stand by that?
By:
Yup.
By:
I also backed Djokovic from starters (a little above SP) and just left it.
By:
Erm, correction, I did lay out at 1.04, sorry
I meant to leave it but then got tired and decided to lay out in case I fall asleep (believe it or not, I lost some matches that way ). |
By:
agree with marin 1.47 is ridiculous price, should be 1.35 max and 2-0 @2.2 lol lol lol
By:
well.. each their own. Tips hadn't fallen your money would have been gone and I still would have gotten my 500% return
not saying anything about this match though |

ah 1.04 green okay
sigh |

Aza wins USO'12 btw

By:
1.04 referred to Djokovic match.
By:
Anyway, I lost interest in WTA side after Kerber and Bartoli lost
my girls, my pretty little fighters |
By:
fckovic match was a tragedy. i never want to be reminded of it ever
By:
Azarenka bit short no? More backers than layers drives the price down.
By:
see ^ i can accept defeat a little. Tips Ferrer match was trader walhalla match like some us said before match. cmmon marin live up to it
By:
We were discussing scenarios. Someone said (you?) that Ferrer will win so he is going to lay him.
Now, lets say Ferrer is going to win: 1. He wins easily. I win money, layer loses money. 2. He wins but not easily. I win money, layer wins money. 3. He loses. I lose money, layer maybe gets out at zero (if he didn't hedge) maybe wins (if he greened on both). Now, the only way I lose money is IF I AM WRONG. I have exactly zero problems with that. |
By:
i get you without bold too. you don't regret maximising profit where it was foreseeable it wouldn't be easy? isn't 1.4 a terrible price in such case?
to be clear i said nothing about the outcome though i thought that if it were to go to five Ferrer would take it i was wrong about that tbh, Tips would have won hadn't he fallen |
By:
Tipsy should have won anyway, fall or not. I agree he probably lost because he fell but it was in his head and nothing else. He should have got up and said "eight points to win this" or however many it was. He got up and lost it psychologically rather than got up and started again with new focus.
By:
i'm not trolling, you just don't give an inch. 1.4ish sp was meagre price. you're always the one to point out a price is ridiculous and 2nd set price was dramatic.
By:
The fall affected nothing.
You are missing the point. I didn't know how will the match go (easy or not), so I acted logically and took position at a realistic SP for starters. If I knew how the match would go, I would back Ferrer, mass lay after 1st set etc. but I am not clairvoyant. |
By:
How was 1.4 meager, Tipsarevic played out of his mind and still lost.
![]() |
By:
that's the point exactly, it was to be expected it wouldn't be as easy as 1.4
and definitely not as easy as below 1.2 2nd set. i'm not clairvoyant either btw |
By:
Tips really only started with that after 1st imho
By:
1.4 isn't a meagre bet. It equates to 71% probability. That's plenty of room for manouevre.
By:
I see the same old arguments are ongoing! I'm going with a lay of Azarenka to start with as I think she will trade higher and Maria will play better than in her semi. I have no idea who is going to win eventually, will bet further in play.
By:
i'm not continuing anything.
By:
Tips could have started the slapping in 1st, instead of being stupid and play Ferrer's game, and 1.4 would have been horrible to get out of
By:
Not you nofx, I was referring to Marin!
By:
To be even more precise, you could hav waited 2 games and back tipsy evens immediatly, after an initial lay of 1,4, of course !
By:
This is pointless, I am talking strategy and scenarios and you are talking how you read the match correctly. Is that such a rare occurrence or what?
I pat you on the back, well done sir, can we move on please? |
By:
that's low man. and i'm not. i was talking probability
By:
you're one calling things epic, noob price and whatnot rubbing everyone the wrong way
enjoy the match and emailing your friends GL |

Some of my posts are parodies to other people's posts (the "epic" stuff).
For example, "GSM" after 1st break is always sarcastic. I really don't have time to explain, if you can understand OK, if not well I don't care. "Noob" I usually really mean. As for rubbing people the wrong way, I recommend everybody to put me on the blocked list and that is that. |
By:
marin whats your position on this match because i cant figure it out from ur previous posts?
By:
seriously you going to teach me in sarcasm now? i'm not sure whether to laugh or cry
yes is epic thread. ciao |
By:
Also few more examples:
- when a new user comes and opens a thread where he either writes "opinions?" without offering his or writing up such garbage that I am unsure if he is joking, that "rubs me the wrong way". Bonus points if he calls one of the veterans here "son" or something like that. - when people open thread without even getting the names correctly, and then proceed to put garbage in opening post, that "rubs me the wrong way" - etc. Get it? |
By:
WELL WHO THE **** DO YOU THINK IS GONNA WIN ... I CAN'T STAND POSTERS WHO DON'T MAKE A PICK.
