ok , chess is a recognised sport , i stand corrected

that was her last chance

Actually 2-3 kg per chess championship match is normal weight loss (mostly perspiration). Top players are usually in very good shape, nowhere near pro athletes though. Top young players often work 8+ hours/day since very young age (they start at around 4, intensive training starts at 6 or so).
But yes, chess is not exactly "pure" sport but more a sport game. |

It is considered as sports, game, art and science, all depends how you play it, for fun or in serious tournaments.

You can say that about any activity. I am a chess candidate master so I consider it a great hobby which I also play competitively.

What your ELO Marin ?
|
|
By:
You can't seriously say that darts and snooker are more physically exerting than competitive chess.
Current ELO around 2150, it goes up and down around that figure. I play only around 10 games/year so I can't really get it much higher. |

Thats really funny, I started aroound same age, and it was too late, despite hard work and studying many master games, couldnt make the 2200 level, except maybe 2-3 victories over IM. i think best age is 8-10, after that its too late.
