Agreed. Radwanska's health must also be a concern. One encouraging sign for Radwanska fans was Williams struggling against a similarly plucky opponent in Jie Zheng earlier in the tournament. Since then (apart from a slight blip vs Shvedova), she's been imperious.
Can't see past a very comfortable straight sets Williams win |
By:
Actually Serena had trouble with Zheng before too (in one match she fell 0-5 behind before winning the 1st set 7-5). Also, she raised her form since then.

What's the news on Rad's health situation?
By:
Apparently it is something she's had for a few days and has still been producing fairly decent performances against Kirilenko & Kerber.
Don't think it affects her too much from an energy point of view but also heard that because of anti-doping and what not, she's being treated with garlic, ginger, lemon, and all other nonsense! |

Did Aggie miss some of the routine pre-match press obligations today because of illness?
By:
Yes. Also withdrew from doubles I believe
By:
Can anyone foresee a real trouncing here, 6-1 6-1 sort of score? I'm thinking of backing it...
By:
I can

By:

Would love Aggy to win but I just cannot see it, Serena 6-2,6-3 similar to the Zvonareva final
By:
1.169 on Pinnacle, down from 1.182 last night
By:
Fair enough on that Sharapova match, but I think Williams will give her a different set of problems to deal with, and ultimately an in form Serena is far better on this surface than Shara would be.

yes she didnt paly great tournamnet and was in bad form, being in australian open final, then indian wells final , thewn miami final, then won 2 other tournaments and won rolland gaross, pretty bad shape ehh
radwanska plays like giving opponent advantage slowly luring him to the place where opponent have pull out difficult shot or will lose one of the next points so yeahh they make pretty lot of errors eventually rad as respiratory issues btw gl all |
By:
Serena is just going to hit too many winners, that is that.
By:
Backed Serena to win 2-0 at 1.55 with bookie and layed off here at 1.46 for no loss. Low winnings but at least no stress.
By:
the Stosur loss should give Aggy some hope. aggy gets a lot of balls back and will have to do a lot of retrieving as serena will be in control of the rallies
this is where her resp. issues could hurt her chances even more anyway i havent heard anyone tip Aggy to win either on here or the "experts" and its clear serena will have to play poorly for that to happen |
By:
come on Agnieska!
NADZIEJA UMIERA OSTATNIA... |

there is something about the price, in that it's so close to her price against stosur at the US Open, that immediately gets the availability heuristic kicking in rather than a more careful analysis.
the truth is that the price reflects Serena winning 7% more points on her serve than Radwanska, which i'm afraid, even if this were a 3rd round match at a premier mandatory and rad was fully fit, would be too conservative. Serena has looked phenomenal on serve, getting better and better as the tournament progresses, she belongs on Centre Court on finals days and has beaten better players to get to the final. There are health concerns over rad, i suspect she wont get a racquet on the ball coming back on over 50% of her second serves and she'll likely be overwhelmed early doors which is fine if you're the better player but an even bigger handicap if you're the undisputed dog. i'm also hugely surprised rad is the same price in the outrights as she in the match market. that 1.18 looks like some of the easiest money of the tournament |

BIG MOMMA sure to win in 2 on paper but I'm not getting involved so I just hope A-Rad performs a miracle.
By:
Get on now, Rad 1.48 + 6.5

I want Radwanska to win, but I fear she will be blown away by the power of a physically much stronger opponent.

By:
Well, it is almost time. Let's hope that it will be very entertaining
match and that the best player of the day will win the title. Place your last bets. Pick the winning ones. Good luck to all of you. |

By:
no financial involvement here but come on AGGIE
By:
I agree ACL. No bet for me, at least for the time being, but I would love to see Aggie win.
By:
Fiver on Aggie. Two great athletes and it's 4 years since Serena (then aged 27) beat Aggi (then aged 19).
It continues to be a disappointment that there's still no home player in the women's final. |
