problem for ferrer may be the crowd

how will ferrer handle the fake injuries? cause that's a 1.01 to happen right if he gets ahead?

5-5 head to head suggests a very tight match

Murray should win, Del Potro was poor and the result flatters Ferrer. Murray is a mental midget who almost let Ivo and Baggy take him all the way, so I am not convinced I'd be pricing him up at 1.25!

except it doesn't really if you look at the matches

he dominates the match-up

he'd have to put in a really poor mental effort to lose this imo, but he is capable of that as we've seen before

Let's hope he isn't too passive.

Indeed.. Just never know with him, it varies from set to set. If his aggression level is like it was vs cilic from set 2 onwards he should win comfortably enough.

But if it's like what it was in the 1st two sets against Baghdatis then he'll have problems

He should know he needs to be aggressive vs Ferrer, but then he was too aggressive at times in the French so suppose it's about the balance tomorrow

mmurray once stepped in good direction in tournament will keep it until he choke final.lol

but he made good transition in cilic match , ferrer always tricky opponent and is in shape of his life underrated on grass imao but murrays game is perfect on grass if he can get out of shell an right times of the match with aggressive  punch

isnt murray better on hard courts?
think it will be very close

4 of the 5 ferrer wins were on clay and the other at the tour finals last year after which murray withdrew from the tournament

Murray likes both hard and grass courts. I think he personally says he prefers hard, but grass is certainly a strong platform for him - partly because so many Europeans and South Americans claim to hate it so much.
By:
;[p
When: 03 Jul 12 23:41
murray if stepping up aggressively have perfect game for grass as he can defend well as well, simmilar to djokovic, but djokovic is not affraid to pull the shots out

If Murray is consistently aggressive, he'll be very strong. Thing is, we know from past experience that being aggressive will only be a passing fancy for him. Even if he tries it for a bit, he'll quickly withdraw into his shell should he have a few tough points. At times of trouble, he falls back on what feels natural to him - and that's passive tennis.

he is like child, he like to chase ball to pull amazing pass time to time. then he is happy
need to grow up quickly, although  lucky bastard will still be there at the top when rafa and fed finally decline, to grab his glory as not much prospect coming up the ranks tbh

best bet here is 3 sets to 1 either way. wont be won 3 0 imo. best lay could be murray to lose first set and even then he might well still be trading as fav. my fancy at this stage is tsonga to reach final.

That's true. Laying Murray 3-0 at 4.0 seems a sound bet.

at least this match is on centre and therefore won't be subject to rain delays Grin
murray's had quite a bit of experience under the roof which may help him

djoko/Mayer and tsonga/Kohlschreiber's quarters are on number 1 court , so one or both may not even complete tomorrow ...
However , having said that I guess they are likely to be switched to centre after the fed and murray matches are completed if it does rain all day tomorrow

i'll take Ferrer, if you think about it Ferrer must have a odd of 3.5 in this match or at minimun over 3.00 , odds open around 2.75, and averaging at about this odd at major bookmakers. This odd is low, book don't want money on him.  Saying that, i think there are no chance Murray wins in straight sets. I understand, finally. Murray isn't at the level of Federer, Djokovic and Nadal on all the surfaces. Also, tournamnet is on grass, but this grass isn't fast, this is similar to clay more than it's to an hard court, and thats why player like Kohlschreiber and Mayer are still in the tournament or in the women Kerber and till yesterday Kirilenko. I can also say that thunderstorm are expected for tomorrow, but the quanity of water and the % of that are low for tomorrow, about 25% during the afternoon, with max probability around 4PM.

The road-runner (Ferrer) just seems to get better with age. I like his form here (and his grass game for that matter).
I doubt that Murray would have made such a mess of Del Potro, as Ferrer did. In the previous round, an inspired Roddick
threw the kitchen sink at him...but to no avail. This is probably a 50/50 match...so I'm more than happy to take the
2.90. Ferrer's demise usually comes against one of the big 3 (Rafa, Djoker or Roger)...but Murray aint one of
them, is he???...Grin

Murry will win in straight sets, probably take an hour and half.

Em .NO . The Murry limp will come on in an hour and half , It will be all down hill from there on LaughLaugh

It will come down to who can sustain the higher level of play the longest, and I feel Ferrer will burn Murray out... He has too many lapses and Daviiid will always be there when he does. 3-1.

ferrer was magnificent yesterday and i think a similar performance will put him through here. murray has cracked under the pressure in this kind of high profile match before and the spaniard is the ideal player to expose that fragility. i think he should be an evens shot at most.

It is good to see so many different arguments/opinions although only 2 outcomes are possible.

I spent some time looking at the service stats of both players and I was surprised to note
that average speed of first and second serve are very much identical. I did not expect that.
Murray's ace rate is higher than the one of Ferrer, but Ferrer also serves more and more
aces compared to 6 months or 1 year ago.

Ferrer also is very sharp at finishing points at the net. Averages a high percentage.

Ferrer beat Del Potro easily, but Del Potro never really became a threat to Ferrer during
the match. He was rather disappointing. The same applies to Murray's win over Cilic. Nothing
to get carried away with.

Murray defends very well, but a defensive player cannot win Wimbledon. Who was the last
Wimbledon champion winning 7 games in a row based on defensive tennis? Take guys like Connors,
McEnroe, Borg, Agassi, Sampras, Becker and so many more. I am pretty sure that Sampras would
still beat today a defensive Murray.

Murray has got all the ingredients to give us superb offensive and aggressive tennis and even
if sometimes a game or two do not go his way, he is able to sustain it for at least 3 or 4 sets.

Show us thst side of your game and you will conquer this noble warrior called Ferrer.

I think Murray is going to find this tough mentally and a lot depends on how he approaches it.

I agree with the commment above that he will see this as the key game to getting him to the final with Nadal no longer in the way - so extra pressure there.

Also Ferrer dumped him out of the French - I know it's clay and all that but the fact is that the very same guy put him out of a Slam only a month ago.

Murray rightly favourite but I'd be very surprised if this was a Murray train.

I layed 3 sets in number of sets, was 2.86 yesterday night it´s 3.1 now, I see slightly better Ferrer here, but not as much as winning Murray in three sets, Murray is way more motivated than Del Po, and sure he will not beat super fighter Ferrer in three sets, Murray can´t keep a high level of concentration for three sets so I think that´s the bet.

I've been on Ferrer in his last 2 matches but not today. Murray will no doubt struggle at times but will come through in the end. Ferrer is a much better match up for him than Del Potro, and he knows it. I've always believed grass is Murray's best surface and with a big crowd home advantage, it'll be too much for Ferrer.
The market hates Murray of course, hence the drift. But he wins.

on second thought i think murray second serve is so unpacey that will be ripped by ferrers witty returns . murrays drop shot will be neutralized by ferrers net play. overall if murray wont be aggressive...

murray spend 10 h on the court.ferrer 8 .but maybe its actually advantage a it gives him great platform for acting moaning faking etc which always keeps him in the gameand breaking opponent rhythm

and crowd will be second factor last time murray broke him 5 times to be broken back straight
away

still think murray have big chance as he looked like started to roll

kiwi great points although i think djoko rafa are great defensors but they learned to hold base line in all means and its critical .murray often drops deep naturally and its pushed away to deep he need to pull the triger ealier ar all cost insted of backing

well ferrer is doing great this year and murray has not shown anything so far. I doubt murray will be able to handle the immense pressure now nadal is out.

Well del potro in the rally is not great atm but his serve is still strong. yesterday he served 73%! over the entire match still broken 5 times. In set 2 del potro had 81% 1st serve and still being broken twice.  So it shows how strong ferrer is returning he is getting the balls back. Won in Holland last week and continues his streak at wimbledon. The man is on fire. It will be a long tough match expect a 5 setter. Odds should be closer.

difference between djoko and murray defence is djoko doing splits and holding himself to middle of baseline where murray is running so he has tendency to run over

Yes, you are absolutely right. Match time is pretty close. Let's hope it's
gonna be a very entertaining game. I shall have a small bet on Ferrer.  Cool
Good luck to you
