"I can confirm that this is not the case. Please be informed that no bets on this market have been void and no users have had their funds returned to their Betfair account.

We have re-settled this market as per our terms and conditions and we are happy with this settlement. It is most unfortunate that the scoreboards stated the scores incorrectly and we do sympathise, but our settlement will stand.

Please be aware that the Betfair tennis results page states the following:

WARNING - ACCURACY OF SCORE AND STATISTICS DATA
ALTHOUGH SCORE AND STATISTICS DATA ON THE TENNIS MICRO-SITE IS SOURCED FROM A "LIVE" FEED PROVIDED BY A THIRD PARTY, YOU SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THIS DATA MAY BE SUBJECT TO A TIME DELAY AND/OR BE INACCURATE.
IF YOU RELY ON SCORE AND STATISTICS DATA TO PLACE BETS, YOU DO SO ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. Betfair provides score and statistics data AS IS with no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of such data and accepts no responsibility for any loss (direct or indirect) suffered by you as a result of your reliance on it.

Anyway, look on the bright side, I am reliably informed that anyone who has a platinum account is in line for an automatic refund of their losses without even asking :)

Hopefully most of you pro gamblers have one ;)

And what do you say now?
By:

When: 10 Jul 08 16:19
the essence of my response from betfair was that the market was settled on the correct outcome and while they sympathise the scoreboard was incorrect this is right by there terms and conditions

response went onto say that if i have a problem can always talk to ibas

***Good news***
I am Federer's neighbour, I told him about this thread and asked him to put pressure on ATP to do some investigations at least. He said ok and promised he will retire definitively from the circuit and give up his place of nr1 to Rafa if they refuse to investigate.
Still hope.

Mugs lost a lot of money on a faulty scoreboard
By:
bass1999
When: 11 Jul 08 10:10
the scoreboard was labelled up wrong

at best its incompetence and at worst fraud

but you have no chance of proving this so people should move on really :)

A different summary

Scoreboard had the players up the wrong way round

People were backing Isner when he was losing (SB said he was winning).

They were laughing at the poor sod who's "bot had gnoe wrong" and was letting them have evens about a 1.1 shot and 1.2 about a 1.01 shot

When it was settled correctly and they lost their money, they complained about how they had been conned

Interesting that when it was them conning someone else, it was perfectly acceptable
