jibjib - I said that my previous post was my last comment on this but to answer your direct questions.
Why do you say me thinking something is "good value" equals me knowing something someone else didn't?? It's got nothing to do with better knowledge, it's just different approaches to gambling. Would you ever back a 1.10 shot? If no you'll never understand me but if yes I'm sure you already do but just being difficult. Yes I did get burnt but it pays well for me overall (and yes I have been caught by retirements in the past) but I'm not sure what gives you the right to say my strategy is stupid. If the boot had been on the other foot I'd be waiting for Betfair to make a decision and (obviously) hoping they wouldn't void but I'd never have been in that situation because I back heavily to win small frequently, not lay to win big seldomly. If I had been in cahoots with the SB operator to mess things up and made big money off the back of it I'd be congratulating myself on a great scam ....... but awaiting that call from Betfair. |

you should have laid off on the 'is the scoreboard telling the truth?' market
yes 2.4 no 1.5 could have easily greened up |
By:
Does anyone think we could get this one voided, on principle no one would back a 1.16 shot who was 6-3 3-1 down, we should say that we were backing the player who according to the scoreboard betfair provided, was 6-3 and 3-1 up.
Betfair are being a bit unreasonable by not voiding at least the in-play stuff. I think this could backfire on them in the long term. What chances a refund (i done my bank in, but i did think it was a good thing)!!! |

By:
Gutted - wished I`d known the scores were the wrong way round.
I would have cleaned up.... ..how many of you does this apply to ? Me for sure |
By:
Anyway, look on the bright side, I am reliably informed that anyone who has a platinum account is in line for an automatic refund of their losses without even asking :)
Hopefully most of you pro gamblers have one ;) |

Isn't the whole point of gambling - greed?
By:
No, greed in gambling is the quickest way to the poorhouse
And I'm sure many found a new express route there last night |
By:
Well I have my money back already
Not sure about the others |
By:
Of course you do
And I'm sure you make a decent long term profit, just like everybody |

I've been on the phone for hours trying to get my money back. Finally did it though.
I'm withdrawing it all now! :) |

Don't forget to cancel your forum account on the way out please.

How did you get your money back dawsy?
Not just by moaning surely? |
By:
Just joined in this discussion, and haven't read all the entries BUT, I too had money on Isner which was initially paid back into my account as a winner.
I have just returned to find that the money has now been taken back out of my account. Now, I admit that it was not Betfair's fault as to the scoreboard being wrong, BUT what if I had already spent or withdrawn the money from the Isner bet, which i'm sure some people must have done. You can't take money out of those poeple's accounts just because they have money available and not out of others with none. Anyone?? |
By:
You can't withdraw for 12 hours for this reason Red, and yes, they can chase it up if they want to.
By:
Does anyone actually read the terms and conditions before signing up, or do they just hope to get away with anything that seems okay in their own minds?
By:
one way or the other dawsy is speaking bollock$
By:
La red - withdrawals are delayed by 12 hours (i believe) for exactly this type of occurence.
By:
Pretty sure you can replace 'or' with 'and' marcus :^0
By:
All this time and I didn't know you couldn't withdraw within 12 hours of winning
Which means I'm a) a shrewdie who wins reguarly over a period of time and withdraws every now and again or b) I'm a complete mug that never wins anything |
By:
It's reasonably new itfc.
By:
Since the infamous Davy match, or thereabouts?
By:
no, since the poker debacle
By:

I've been on the phone for hours trying to get my money back. Finally did it though. I'm withdrawing it all now! Are you serious ? on what grounds did they repay you ? |
By:
6 seater tournies, a bug in the system meant that wherever you finished you got 2nd place prize money
didnt take long for people to cop on, everyone was going all-in first hand, went on for hrs one night |
By:
and of course they were withdrawing instantly, hence the 12hr rule
By:
What happened, did they have to give the money back?
By:
betfair airbrushed it from their history and any thread about it were deleted
so don't expect this one to hang about for long now |
By:
apparently they wrote to everyone, got some back but not all
By:
roflol

By:
