if bf offer in play market based ONLY on one official SB, then it must be voided. simple.

once paid out initially....transaction legally complete.

Even Betfair paid out on Isner win......So even they got mugged initially. But they have the powers to reverse.

anyone who layed on MP at 1.17 either knew the real score or suspected the scores were the wrong way round. Could someone explain why their "greed" should be rewarded but the "greed" of the backers deserves to be punished?

I know it won't help those who have lost, but perhaps some time in the future, everyone can learn from this.

If you're getting 1.2 about something which should be 1.01 to lay, ask yourself why

If its too good to be true....

Where the Market Information or Specific Sports Rules do not specify how and on what basis a market will be settled, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).

Lesson learnt!!

An expensive mistake, but you can bet its one I won't ever make again!

By the way mate; the SB does strange things in many many other small tournaments so beware of those as well. There was a match last year where the SB jumped from 4-3 in the 2nd to the match being completed and it was far from over.

My 4k was stolen too.. Thank you BETunfair..

Why dont you open live bets on challangers??? because its not on protennislive.. why dont open livebets on "non-covarege" matches like challengers..!!!!!!!!!!!!

and the market remained open after GSM shown on the SB :^0
Then they suspended - obviously according to the official scoreboard. They settled according to the official scoreboard then reversed the decision when it proved to be an error. That carried on through fpr the duration of this match.

It's not the first time I'm losing money following something crappy somebody else said in this forum. There was time to lay and avoid the loss so those who didn't take the opportunity did it out of greed and indecision.

Perhaps a loss on this match will actually save a lot of people a LOT of money in the future

If people quit because of this, maybe they should look back on the match which SAVED them thousands, when they only lost hundreds

There are two lessons here. The market is NEVER wrong, somebody, somewhere will always know if it looks too good to be true then it damn well is. And, always go all green because you just never know :o

seroiusly what odds it gets voided?
By:

When: 08 Jul 08 21:29
So I suggest to everybody ; stop betting on those matches where there are no pics and only a scoreboard. If Betfair doesn't want to void let them see their commission out of those matches getting shrinked.
This is what I learned from this today and this is what I'm doing from now on.

I just dont get why people felt like it was free money and then came up with this stupid story that it was the betfair bot

Surely if there are dodgy matches like this, then its best to stay clear? The guys who have got stung unfortunately have themselves to blame.

The best thing you (the people who lost) can do is phone betfair and kick up a fuss that the courtsider or whoever now has your money knew the score which could land them in trouble
By:
amorphous
When: 08 Jul 08 21:32
I'd love to find out how much the courtsiders won!!

By:

When: 08 Jul 08 21:33
Of course they can't void it. They even mention it in their own rules, that scores may be inaccurate. And besided the wrong scores, there wasn;t anything wrong with the match.
By:
Monkfish
When: 08 Jul 08 21:33
The market is NEVER wrong, somebody, somewhere will always know if it looks too good to be true then it damn well is.

wasn't he matched at 1.01,1.02 etc? it's hardly the davydenko situation.

we've got a situation here where a handful of people can steal tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds from "mugs" who follow scoreboards, safe in the knowledge bf's terms and conditions will protect them. A few "shrewd" individuals spotting it and making some money for themselves then** off the "mugs" for thinking the ATP would actually broadcast correct scores.
