I think canaryboy does not deserve so much flak/mockery with his OP in March 2008, and in fact deserves credit - he foresaw what has essentially unravelled since then; the gradual demise of Fed.
In 08 he won the US Open against a fatigued Murray; in 09 he won the French Open and Wimbledon aided enormously by Rafa's no show through injury; and last year he won the Oz Open after Rafa had to default through injury once more.
I think it's a reasonable argument to suggest his 4 Slams since March 08 would not have been achieved had a fully-fit Rafa turned up in 3 of them, and had Murray not been dealt the killer US draw and been clearly fatigued in the final.

yeah , i think its likely fed doesn't win another slam Sad

hope im wrong , but at 29 its not gonna get any easier

I felt fed price was too short at the start of this tourney and especially against joker ...

yep , maybe fed retires this year , i sincerely not ...but maybe he'll call it a day , when he realises he just ain't as fast and fit as he used to beSad

I think Federer will retire at the Olympics in London next year, he won't want to miss playing wimbledon twice in one season, what a way to say goodbye - winning Gold at Wimbledon where he made his name.

"he was young and unstoppable back then, with only andy roddick on the scene to match up to him . Now we have Nadal/Murray/Djokovic/Delpotro/Tsonga   [:o][:o]

gotta a massive number of points to defend the rest of the year too. may not drop out of the 4 but could be a lot closer to 2nd tier of players than the top 2 by then

The opening poster has surely been humiliated enough now without dragging this thread up again. He's suffered enough.

One of the all-time 'Head In Hands Man' Forum carcrashes, along with O'Dwyer's 'Phil Taylor is Finished' thread on Darts Forum, unleashed on an unsuspecting world just before Taylor found his greatest ever period of domination and averages.

Since this pitiful thread was started, I note that Roger Federer has won :

US Open 2008
French 2009
Wimbledon 2009
Australia 2010

Federer also made Slam finals in :

Australia 2009
US Open 2009
Paris 2011

Injury permitting he's also due to contest the Wimbledon 2012 Final.

All in all, probably the most self-humiliating thread ever to appear on Betfair.

Still, there is one silver lining.  The people collectively responsible for the Titanic disaster 100 years ago are smiling now up in Heaven, happy to know that their own judgement looks razor-sharp in contrast with this catastrophic thread.
