I think it would be close between lando and chloe. Bbc would be pushing the girl of course

Don't forget these f1 guys will have millions of followers from across the globe, chloe will be mostly uk so i dunno if it's particularly valid.  Lando would have a strong vote though, and it is the timing of the win as much as anything

Shirely one of the Red Roses receives a nomination. Assuming they land the 1/2 odds and win the World Cup

Chloe wins in a canter regardless. The People's Princess Love

She'll catch Norris in terms of insta followers in no time Wink

Plus most can vote. Unlike his fans

Please don't claim f1 fans don't vote. Unless it's just to wind bear up

Don't worry about Fig, he's buoyed by the success of the thumbnail theory..

Thumbnail theory? #confused

Not saying F1 fans don't vote, brushy. Just saying they can't vote from South America, Asia, Europe, etc

Never an exact science but you can have piastri f1 1.68 and norris spoty 15.5.

What price does norris hit on spoty if he wins? You'd imagine the anti female punters would pile in a bit

Regardless of actual chances this market just gets bored and reacts to new things

RED RORY - GREEN FIELD

No doubt golf is on the up lately but the numbers just don't compute and cannot compete with the England womens footy team who are riding a massive wave of ever growing popularity in recent years.
Motor racing also on the up, my gut is telling me Lando is the preferred winner over the Ozzie as he's the home boy, albeit with a weird accent. This is going all the way and i see him getting the nod involving tactics during the race, especially where pit stops and tyre selection come in to play. Not sure he beats the massive footy audience though but he absolutely p1sses over Rory in any vote.

2025 British Open viewing figures - Final round average 681,000 a decent increase v 2024, peak audience of 1.14 million.
2023 Ryder cup - Skysports recorded an average audience of 785,000 per day, total broadcast reach over the 3 day event exceeded 3.7 million viewers.
Basically golf has a diehard audience of around 800,000 golfing nuts, its all pointing towards similar stats of last year. But it reads far worse for Rory as it goes. Keely had 9 million was it ? v Luke's 4 million ? its now England women at 15 million verses a paltry 800,000 at best for the golfer.

Rory really couldn't give two fecks about the BBC or the award, it must be Irish punters still backing him as they love a punt...He pulled out of this week to rest up but he could win the remaining two fed ex cups tournaments, then the Ryder cup, clean up in Europe at the Rolex end of year events and still not get anywhere near the girls or Lando if he pulls it off.
Hitting a little white thing compared to the history making girls, who've done something that mens team have never been able to achieve will see a flood of blokes voting let alone women, coz blokes are fed up to feck of all the disappointment at every tournament and can only thank the women for bringing some deserved recognition to our national game. Yes national game, which is not the little white ball being hit with a stick.

I'd say maybe a big news story is the only thing that could get him over the line but i don't even think that would work, coz it didn't get his fellow northern irish compatriot Darren Clark the win in 2011 when far more people were voting btw. Clarke won the Brtish Open that year, his 1st major after years of trying. The win was particularly moving because it came five years after his wife died from cancer. That emotional journey personally resonated with many fans, it was hailed as one of the most compelling sporting stories of the year. He was widely seen as the 'peoples champion', embodying heart, resilience and character.

Bottom line is i don't see any scenario where Rory picks up the award

1) Hates the BBC and the award, probably goes both ways
2) The girls viewer numbers are at least 15x more than that of the diehard putting crew
3) One of the most loved Northern Irishman couldn't win in the year of his biggest achievement, after coming back from the lowest time of his life.

Lay Rory collect December - Simple

Not even two girls up from team can help him, with multivoting available i see most fans giving a vote each, don't think beeb would even consider risking that scenario anyhow.

Shame no top 3 market, would be a cracking lay in that. He only has one chance imo of making top 3 and thats if things stay as they are, no rugby girl win, Lando win or tennis achievement.
it would be

1st - one of girls
2nd - Littler
3rd - Rory

Either Lando or Ellie will unplace him if they win

Fairplay to Littler, wins two of the triple crown and runner up in other one. I'll back him for top 3 as and when, fecker owes me and his family better turn up not looking like the Royale Family this time.

I was rather hoping Lottie Woad would win the open to speed up the Rory drift but i guess its gonna be a long process now, gotta cheer on Lando for that. great.......

The equation on lando is that he's possibly quicker, not much, more risky, but makes about 3x as many errors

Usually small ones but they add up like in belgium

He also got gifted that race, with Oscar being a bit of a prat. As said, Lando needs team help and i think he slyly gets it

Regarding the fav, i think the beeb goes with her unless she does something daft in public..which is quite possible with her gob. The goalie has a far better back story and is a far better role model imo
After the game i was frantically backing her and laying Rory, maybe should of been backing Chloe a bit. Still green with all the Rory laying but maybe missed a trick there.

Too many races.  And totally lacking the mechanical tension of yesteryear.  Even the most boring races were spiced up by last minute failures, like mansell waving at the crowd
