Football is the kryptonite of SPOTY

A team wins the premiership every year, there will always be a top player, then there is the World Cup and Euros/women’s tournaments

No surprises on short list.

That’s not a bad shout actually, I’d lean towards laying Frankie close to evens to make extra sure , reckon I’m staying out of this market now  it’s broke my heart enough lol had Daniel Dubois backed from start of the year to win SPOTY to make 40k and he landed a bodyshot on Usyk that had him down for 5 mins that got deemed a lowblow, then I went big on Leon Edwards (UFC champion fights on Saturday) and Ronnie…neither of them make the shortlist

Too late, and nobody is ever getting nommed for winning that poxy title. He could barely be arsed to enter

I'm not playing this at all, and won't be, so don't worry!

However horse racing is feeling really down in the dumps and sorry for itself right now. Under siege in fact. Don't be surprised if the sport rallies around him. Would have been an easier sell if he had actually followed through with quitting of course.

Obviously that is completely different, on this he is effectively representing the sport. And the fact he did come last on iac has worried people about the sport's profile with the public.

Nah, it isn't completely different. It's a tv popularity poll voted by the public

tbf IAC is low bar and tacky for the racing community, self serving even. whatever you think, I'd say don't use his showing on that as a gauge for this.

You think rory would have done as badly as him? :)

I legitimately can’t remember one scene with Frankie from I’m a celeb except the first trial he had vs Tony lol

Do we think the sport will create a campaign for him? absolutely. And there is a track record of that filtering through to the results for HR. Probably not enough to take the title, since judging by the prices the fav has turned water into gold and resolved global poverty.

She made a few decent saves cider and shouted swearily at other women - but in this day and age that is considered as you say, when it's a lady playing footie.

I backed her just over evens, but sadly laid it off for a small green just under evens - I should have waited, as per above.

...it used to be much better before they went to the 6 person coronation shortlist sh!te!

10, 12 or 16 candidates made it much more fun and truly celebrated their sporting achievements.

Hard to believe that even with those nomination numbers of 10-16, Wayne Rooney NEVER received a single nomination!
