It’s Madness’ first studio album to manage a No 1, as their previous two to reach the top were the greatest hits collections ‘Complete Madness’ in 1982 and 1992’s ‘Divine Madness’.

It was put up at 3 a few minutes earlier, so doubt it's fat fingers.

It is curious as if he was brown bread and that player is itk, most don't have the patience to leave bets up in the blue column. Much as I don't feel it is enough to swing the outcome of this heat, the market probably would.

The Xmas songs are streaming way ahead of where they have been in the last few years. I do not have a hypothesis in regard to why that is. This has been the trend so far every week this year. I've backed Wham everywhere I can, so the prices might not last too long. Still between Jack and Wham for me. Keeping a close eye on MC.

Radio airplay has been brought forward again this year
as it was so popular to do so last year. Will
there be fatigue this year or will it just build?

Dunno.

I remember backing Whitney and praying she held on

Folk used to buy cds in dem days and song was all
over, even at Xmas...

Can't stand song now as I've heard it at so many
funerals since Sad

I grabbed what I wanted before posting, army. I was already quite heavily red on it, and I have to consider the remote possibility that I have completely misjudged it!

laugh, my base case is that the streaming has simply been expedited, and it is unlikely to be 30% higher come Xmas week vs the last two years.

The general trend is that there is excitement in the Xmas streaming space at the end of Nov/start of Dec. Then the exponential growth flattens off until the weekend before Xmas itself. Last year I distinctly recall thinking we were in line for huge numbers in the chart week, but they were in actuality less than looked likely early on.

your're normally bang on, could of scrapped together a lay but that would of fecked for footy bets until jungle finished

Oh I wish you good luck cider, and can't argue
with your logic.

Whitney just melded into Xmas play lists that year
and held on.

It's been done since.. Clean bandit

So you've a decent chance.

Clean Bandit was a very special time indeed. None of the compilers had figured for the rapid changes in the music industry. It perfectly coincided with the effective termination of X factor as a force.

EMF - "Hello People" (featuring Stephen Fry)

Release date is 15th December 2023.

“Hello People” is a call to arms with tolerance against the hate-myths of immigration. It features a very special guest performance by Stephen Fry.

"Hello People" is now available to preorder in our shop as CD single, bundle and digital download.

Can't wait for my bundle to drop. Not quite seeing the Xmas link, other than the release date.

Very good.

I'm posting these as it's a pretty unique year, whatever is happening now is a good indication of the shape of where this is going, even now. Save for exceptional circumstances.

Good song (been around for years)  but aren't people just gonna watch that clip? Which ain't gonna be added for chart purposes

#5. But that's not relevant really, rather what they are doing compared to Jack is the crucial bit. Wham was also 19K on the Monday mids in the crucial week last year. So if this was the counting chart weak it would literally come down to a coin flip. Effectively the OCC as they have to use a forecast for the final day's streaming, they could pick the one they want.

Jack's rate of increase is slowing for sure, so we would have to favour Wham based on the inferred increases.

Cheers for the head's up army. I don't see it having any impact at this point. Will likely be forgotten in a few days. I do however have it on good authority that it is Sam Thompson's fav bar in that part of the world.
