One thing I am clinging to in my Large Bill Red is that Oti won it last year.  Usually someone from the forum would be all over that as we even get a mention for someone wearing Red on Strictly/ X Factor yet this does seem a legitimate argument against Bill.

Any thoughts?

Huh!  Ok forget it. sorry I asked.

Lou. I don’t see that  Oti winning last year will have an impact on Bill’s chance of winning this year. I could be wrong, I hadn’t given it a thought.

none really, KfG made loads of finals, Giovanni has been in a few, Oti as well.  Some of the pros are much better than the others - at the choreo, teaching, forming better partnerships in general and getting the best out of their celeb, and also being top notch across all the dances rather than some who are much more skilled at Latin (say Janette) or BR (the cliche that is Anton).

To actually WIN IT last year though when in fact no other Pro (I'm almost certain) has EVER won it twice?

I don't think the core voters would really consider that and move their vote to someone else because of it.

Still think it's not ideal but maybe I'm clutching at straws.

It certainly wouldn’t affect my decision wether or not to vote for someone.

Sorry lou. Although Bill winning is no longer the forgone conclusion I thought it was going to be. HRVY is a huge danger to him.
By:
LOU MACARIS TARTAN B
When: 04 Dec 20 18:11
Yes I really hope  HRVY wins it's a massive difference to me.

I just surmised that as usual the older, slightly portly, slower dancers couldn't possibly win (none of them ever have) so layed Bill thinking he couldn't win.

Personally just can't see why but he's the clear favourite and looking very much like the winner at the moment.  Nothing I can do bar hope he doesn't.

Oh well you never know.

Bill certainly needs some good dances in the semi final. Wasn't keen on his Jive or the styling and AT doesn't look ideal on paper.
If he has the Rumba and something like a FT next week, then we'll know they're out to stop him

Figgy

He is due that sort of dance though isn't he so couldn't it simply be that's his turn to do that dance rather than "They're out to stop him"

Well they're all due a rumba, as we haven't had one yet. Unless they all do one next week, which seems unlikely, then most of them will miss out on it

Yes that's a good point actually.  Seems strange nobody's done at all yet and almost a nothing dance IMO so interesting to see if anyone gets it.

I posted the remaining dances on the scores thread recently.  With a shorter run it looks like a good number of the remaining dances are going to be missed out so this series could be really short on rumbas as well as some others.

Dances Remaining (I think) after this weekend (bearing in mind two dances will be perfomed after this weekend) and obv quite a few dances are going to be missed out.

Bill - FT, Tango, VW, Waltz, Charleston, Salsa, Samba, Rumba

HRVY - AT, FT, PD, QS, Waltz, Charleston, Samba, Rumba

Jamie - AT, FT, PD, QS, VW, Waltz, Salsa, Rumba

JJ - AmSm, AT, Tango, CCC, CChoice, Salsa, Samba, Rumba

Maisie - AT, FT, PD, VW, Waltz, Charleston, CChoice, Rumba

Ranvir - Tango, Waltz, Charleston, CChoice, Jive, Salsa, Samba, Rumba

I also saw a light-hearted Bill article on the Daily Hell just now.  What I found more interesting were the positive comments (and arrow up/down endorsements) for Bill when the comments are usually a cesspit of bile and hatred.

Bill - Tango to Metallica's Enter Sandman

HRVY - Rumba

Ranvir - Jive and Waltz

and if a couple of Charlestons, two from Bill, HRVY, Maisie

Great music for Bill. I can’t wait to see Ranvir’s jive. It’s my favourite dance Grin
By:
squares
When: 07 Dec 20 07:42
Yes, I was thinking she had a great couple of dances unless she was to do the slowest jive in the world to Celine Dion or Mariah Carey, but then I thought a jive to All I Want For Christmas Is You would be an absolute corker.

Also it's not too difficult to gloss over a poor jive with no content and no technique (as per Jamie last weekend) and should she suffer with the jive the waltz will no doubt be an amazing tear jerker.

When: 07 Dec 20 09:23
The Jive is make or break time for Ranvir, it'll silence many doubters if she nails it and put her in a great position in the final.
