Agree with all of that bar the Anton part. Anton is the reason why Katie will win

I agree with pretty much none of it

I thought Jay was outstanding last night, wasn't too impressed with the badly fitting suit but the hair is a great improvement
2 brief glimpses of a smile through the routine will go a lot further with voters than Andres permanent false grin |

Being on Katie @20-1 for TF, I'm clearly pleased with developments, however they have had two very suitable dances so far.

I'll take it off your hands at 14/1 cider

Just rewatched Jay. He was very iffy when in hold, but the overall performance was excellent

Plenty of ballroom to come for Katie cider. Also I can see her doing a decent Charleston and Paso. Maybe rumba too. Only worries would be the CCC and Samba and most of them are poor anyway

The Rumba with Anton, hmmmm
. I anticipate her being too short for the OR when it re-opens. The usual stuff with scd nowadays, the cracks are being papered over when it suits the storyline. |
|
By:
ok, maybe not the Rumba |

Very true about storylines cider. They're better than Cowell at killing someones chances or pushing someone

I wonder who Len will be pickling his walnuts for this year, to make sure they get to the final

We need a market

I feel that the judges have had to, on occasion get behind the public fav to 'save face'. Thinking of Louis, and Mincey in particular. But they have killed off multiple runners as suits. All part of the game, of course. I imagine that there are very few past runners, like Mincey, where they've had to adapt the storyline because of the public support.

It's only Len & Craig that really count as well. Len with his cheesy puns and emotional blackmail, and Craig (rightly or wrongly) considered to be the technical expert. It's a huge 'tool' to turn Craig's negative opinions around.

I can't see any reason to be overly worried about any dance for Katie. The worry is what Anton will look like and the package he will put together.
Yes, Jay did look iffy in-hold but for some reason the judges chose to overlook it. I suspect he will look naturally awkward in almost every dance. Perhaps the judges will go on overlooking things for a more few weeks? |

As regards fighting it this for me remains a bit of fun with a chance to make a little money at the same time. Pleased to say that the first elimination has already covered my outright bets. Those who picked on Iwan's lack of ability at an earlier stage have obviously done even better.
If I was some hard-nosed backer with plenty at stake it would probably be sensible to cover on Jay. That doesn't apply so I am happy with my original strategy of predominately selecting first and foremost on potential dance ability, not journeys or perceived popularity. Personally, I wouldn't have Jay in the top five in terms of dance ability. I might be a miffed for a few seconds if he ends beating much better dancers but I think I will cope and there is still the pain easer of Katie having an excellent chance of finishing top woman. Anyone sitting on 20/1 is just praying Anton doesn't mess things up. The 40/1 outright was always a tad element optimistic but the each-way element still has a bit of mileage. It is sometimes a little bit difficult to assess popularity as most of it is probably derived from sites frequented by a younger audience who not surprisingly are going to be more easily influenced by the 'pop star' brigade. The potential voting audience on finals night is probably a little different. No need to give up on Peter and Katie just yet. |

I thought Craig had been a dancer.
Wasn't that what had damaged his hips so early? |

Wiki says yes

altho maybe not a trained ballroom dancer
so maybe that's what Len and James had issues with, although James has issues about everything and everyone |

I think Len has been better this year. Perhaps it is only a question of time before he reverts to type. I do wonder what Darcey brings to the table?

By:
Some class and someone good to look at. She's been a good addition to the panel. Far better than the awful Alesha
|
|
By:
For me, Len seems like one of those famous people that has an affable and jovial persona in front of the camera, and is probably an a hole off it. I can't abide him, personally.
