Reports of much chortling chez tim are confirmed.
I think you know I`ve been an indie for 20-something years. This D/H issue has had me in many an argument with disgruntled punters who either really don`t grasp why they`re being paid less than they expect or, just as often, are simply trying it on. In fact, this particular point has seen me expecting a left hook on more than one occasion, as some are so convinced I`m cheating them. |

Hi each way bets on Stevie and Lucy settled at full odds those on Emmanuel and Sasha half odds. So Stevie 8/1 and 8/5 Lucy would be 20/5 =4/1 so £5 each way Lucy 20/1 =£25.
Sasha each way at 16/1 becomes 16/5 but withy the dead heat 16/5 becomes 11/10, £10 @11/10 =£21.Or half stakes £10 ew 16/1 becomes £5ew @16/5 =£21. |

I still don't get how she got beat...Daily Mail comments the same. Top rated:
In a short while I know I simply won't remember this winner however I definitely will remember Lucy as being the voice that should have won! 471 green arrows 65 red arrows |

I understand all the ticked boxes Cider but he came across like a desperate wannabee in the end. I'd like to see the actual votes. You reckon he'd still have won if Lucy had been the TCO? No reason at all why the BBC can't release the vote...how can you "embarrass" wannabees which is their excuse with the "stars" on SCD.

Lucy is a MUCH better singer than Katherine Jenkins and I have no doubt she will be the ultimate winner career wise. Perfect for Sound of Music in west end.

I think most of us feel that she had Stevie punch-drunk on the ropes by the end. If true, perhaps the real surprise was that such an `obvious` winner was in such trouble, against an opera singer, of all things. I really would like to see the figures, did she come close? Was she ever leading? Or was the lack of an `it`s close` more telling than I had supposed?

By:
Emu & Sasha could feel justifiably aggrieved. Lucy and Stevie had the best of the treatment, one could argue Lucy was treated most favourably.
Stevie gave people enough motivation to vote for him, that's all that matters. You're not going to be able to pick that up from social media. They're not voting for him because he is the best performer, they voted because they're motivated enough to have wanted him to win. |

I expect most people had decided who they were voting for before tonights show

At least in the case of Stevie

I know bear emoticomed me for this but I'll stick by my post a while back.....I don't go for the regional vote theory but this was the exception and if Stevie was a brummie Lucy would have p1ssed it.
|
|
By:
Exactly bc, it could only be taken away by an exceptional performance (a la Diversity), or if it became embarrassing to vote for him.
|
|
By:
Only myself to blame as it was clear days ago it was a two horse race and I had Lucy at decent odds and could have greened up at about evens in running. Usually I would have but everything I saw pointed one way. Not the end of the world though.
|
|
By:
Tbf to Stevie his handling of social media has far exceeded anything we've seen by any contestant on any show
He may well have won if he was a mere Brummie |
|
By:
I doubt any of us could have advised him any better than who ever was guiding him
|
|
By:
Its not knowing that p1sses me off. If he won by 20% fair do's. We'll never know.

Yes it was outstanding and Ricks and Stevies was just bad karaoke. Jim Shelley a bitch but sums it up really. Again comments support Lucy. Its very rare that a reality winner has so many saying they shouldn't have won. Usually it just feels "right". Don't feel that tonight.
