It's irrelevant whether they're 'non celebs' or world champion motor bike riders. It's how they perform on the show that matters

the public want celebs that have or are still famous too some degree, not goons you see on normal big brother who are trying to be famous and are just in there playing up and acting to get 'seen'

I am just saying that Chantelle's situation was a unique one and I don't believe she can be compared to George Gilbey, Nadia Forde, various unknown models and Americans, because she was the central figure of that series' particular "storyline". |

i would say in a name the photos type competition, Jake would have been easy enough for most viewers to name ahead of a number of other contestants.

I agree,
he went in as well known through being on a popular current TV show, and obviously with a lot of goodwill as perceived to be likeable on that show. But there is no Chanelle comparison as she went in unknown as was the intention. |

I just don't think all these repeated Chantelle references during these shows are comparing like with like. That was a one off and part of the storyline of that particular series. Like Rage Against The Machine is likely to be a one off as per comments on the Xmas No 1 thread. |

I think with RTV "stars" like lots of other "stars" from soaps, music, all aspects of the entertainment industry there are some the viewers initially think they would like to see more of and there are others they probably think they have seen all they have to offer already.
Oc the former can then disappoint and the latter can step up to the mark. |

lol I'm on Burkm, but as squares says, you can't compare these scripted reality shows, which are watched by 1M or les, with someone who has appeared on a show that is still watched by 10M on a good week
