I thought that was Laila's best Latin to date. She is limited by Anton's choreography as much as anything. I would have scored Laila & Tuffers both the same.
By:
Yes, maybe.
I just sense they're deliberately playing down Tuffers dances and giving lukewarm comments and low marks. Maybe because he's p1ssing up in the public vote each week? |
By:
My thoughts were that Craig could well be saved by the pv but if he is there's a bottom 2 combo market out that has decent enough prices.
By:
Laila getting 3 fast latins out of the way means lots of ballroom and decent dances to come. She matches the top 2 in ballroom so anyone falling into a dance-off with her is going to be in trouble. Especially the mediocre dancers like tuffers :D

bit of a move on chris today?
By:
Is Chris gay?
He is never seen with a wife / girlfriend, only his mum and dad. The reason I ask is purely from a punting perspective as he may tap into the 'pink' vote - personally I couldn't care less where he sticks it. |

It appears he ain't actually a Mincer...lol

Could you please explain about the dances? Is there a certain amount of latin and ballroom and they all have to dance each one eventually? Or can they choose.
TIA |
By:
Annie, Im not 100% sure how it will work this year.
There are 13 different dances (Argintine Tango has been danced in the semi finals last 3 years). Its usually 2 a week (1 ballroom and 1 Latin) during the first 6 weeks. When they have run out of that rotation then everyone does a different dance everyweek. For example instead of last week half doing AS and half doing Samba, they will all be doing a different dance this week, one that they havnt done. As a rule (although not always) they will rotate between a Latin dance and Ballroom. When there are 5 or 6 left they will then start doing 2 dances a week. The problem is this year, with the fact they did 2 dances in week 1 AND they all danced in week 3 and 4, they are in my book going to run out of dances after week 11. From 3 weeks until the end I'm not sure what dances they will have them do, as except for the Argintine Tango, they will have run out. |
By:
If that explaination doesnt make sence, which it may not lol, scroll down to the table of the dances here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strictly_Come_Dancing_(series_6) As you can see from that, apart from the Argentine Tango they had done every dance by the start of the semi final. I think last year the couples were just allowed to choose their fav dances to fill the gaps. Who know about this year as there will be 5 dances to redo by my count. |
By:
Thanks, seanvice. Does this mean that in the end they will all have had to dance each dance at least once or can they opt to just do what they are better at i.e ballroom or latin?
By:
Sorry for the last post, seanvice. It crossed with yours. I have looked at the site and it seems to agree with you that they have to dance all the dances at least once. Thank you for that.
By:
Yep, they will all end up doing every dance in the end this year at least once, for certain.
In the finals of prevoius years they have always been allowed to choose their best Latin and best ballroom to do in the final. The trouble is this year because they will run out of dances earlier than they ever have before, I dont know what the procedure will be after they have danced all the dances. Who knows they may have to redance their WORST dances in say the quarter finals |
By:
Just to add, when they're down to the last 5 or 6, they do 2 dances a week, one latin and one ballroom.
So those who are weak at one or the other always have the other one to fall back on. Crucial if they fall into the dance-off. At that stage it's probably better to excel at one and be rubbish at the other, rather than be just OK at both. |
By:
ie, someone like Laila would have a decent chance of surviving a dance-off against almost anyone, given her excellent ballroom.
Jade who is OK, but not great, at both, might struggle. |
By:
In the quarter final and semi final, is the worst dancer still voted off by the judges or is it just the public vote only - like sometimes towards the end on X factor.
By:
Yep, still a dance-off with the judges deciding up til the final 3.
In the final it's just public vote. |

Thanks, fll. I know from previous specials that you are always very helpful and NICE. A bit different from the regulars on chit chat!

Come to think of it why do you not post on chit chat?

Plenty of regulars on chit chat are very helpful and nice, aren't they rogerthebutler?
Not many of them like a grass though. |

I think your post has proved my point. Also, again, I did not ask for the pub thread to be taken off - I only asked them to find out if it was causing all the white screens and inconvenience to posters. I thought then that, armed with the FACTS, we could have a sensible debate about what action to take, if any. I was not to know that Betfair saw for themselves the trouble the thread was causing and took if off. The venom afterwards to posters who had complained about it was vile and showed the regulars you talk about in their true colours. |
By:
if that's the biggest thing you have to worry about as an "inconvenience" in your life, than how lucky are you.

i didn't see any venom. i saw disappointment and some**staking, although a few posters (those that 'complained') seemed to take this to heart and posted petty comments on other fora. well done annie on going about it the right way as to ascertain what was causing you some irritation. however, some of those with similar concerns did not and took it upon themselves to state their opinion as fact. can i hear a lol? gimme an 'L'. |

Some of this Sat's dances have changed on wikipedia which is a bit bizarre - presuming it's wrong...?

they look right now JR, were they being messed around with?

it had some of them doing mambos and Argentine tangos, squares. Very odd.
Is Craig really a 1-5 shot for lowest score doing a waltz when at least 3 of his rivals look to have very difficult dances? I don't think he is. |

Craig getting an almighty push
Craig's parents met in Blackpool, so he really wants to dance in the Tower Ballroom on 7th Nov. Can he survive this week's Waltz? #scd |
By:
I see stans opened 8/11 over 34.5, highest score this week LOL. They coulda gone 1/5 over that score and I woulda been on (not that I can get anything more than £1.20 on with them these days)
