Is it just me or has Stan Moody grown a foot and a half since the last time we saw him?
2-1 Jiang over Stan, 2-1 Marco over Ding, 1-0 Baz over Duane, 2-1 JAck over Gong (must have been a Gong steal deep into the colours).
3-1 Jack, 2-2 Stan.
Duane v unlucky to not get on VFB when playing into a cluster of reds and black. Black moved into a posi where the next red just wouldn't quite pass.

We don't get replays here but that red looked like it came well away from the cush and still dropped without thinking about it. Should be a steal for Baz. They're all there.
Couldn't hear what was going on there in the first part of the conversation, but think we had a unicorn moment. Baz, having missed the yellow twice, whilst able to hit it, needed a snooker, but because the three-miss rule was in action, the balls were still able to be replaced! (as opposed to no miss being called beyond snookers required) Neither of the players seemed to know that was a thing.

Baz doubles the final red when in with a chance to steal, misses it.
Great chance for Baz to steal, but he plays a horrible shot on the black off the last red (I thought pink was the shot), rattles the cueball in the jaws and leaves himself at the wrong end of the table.
Duane has a mare. Sticks the yellow in playing safe. Brown not a gimme but should be gettable given how the pockets are playing. Gets in. Misses the blue.

Jack seems angry. Absolutely lashes at the ball that puts the frame to bed, gets it, and then does the same to the next (which he misses). Not sure if something happened?
Marco gets one of the snooker he needs to prevent Ding pegging him back to 4-2.

Superb counter up to the green from Stan, but he misses and rattles it with the rest, sticks it.
Stanley almost goes in-off in playing safe, but pretty much sticks the pink anyway. Not an absolute cert.
Jiang craps himself on the yellow. Gets up and down off it multiple times. Gets the pot but overscrews. Green on but all bets off.
5-3 Baz. Jiang uses the opportunity to dry his hands.

always get this wrong, but as things stand it looks a certainty that XINTONG will be seeded 1 at thw W cHAMPS, TRUMP2. WILSON3 AND ROBBO 4. Anyone confirm this and what ranking events are left before the crucible that could alter the Race to the crucible rankings . thx
riday update: Thepchaiya Un-Nooh wins his crunch quarter-final with Gary Wilson by a 5-1 scoreline and that means he's the only player still threatening to knock Xiao Guodong out of the Race to Manchester. Un-Nooh must beat Judd Trump in the semi-finals tomorrow and then win the £175,000 top prize on Sunday to jump into the top 12 of the one-year rankings. If he does that, he will also still have a chance to become a top 16 seed for the Crucible, though he would need another deep run in Manchester.

1.05 Judd beaten. Crazy initial miss on the pink but Theppy gets over the line !
Judd gutted, fluked a handy pink but black unpotable. still thought it would go to a shootout,. cracking straight black from Nooh though
Interestingly regarding the 153 break the only reported break of 155 was achieved by Theppy in 2021 at his local club although obviously not in an official tournament it was captured on cctv.
Other non filmed 155s are attibuted to mark allen, Jamie Cope and possibly Alex Higgins.

Blimey, didn't see that coming . Un nooh wins a tournament, miracles do happen.
Didn't see the match, but so e people are saying it was one of the great matches of all time. Looking at the breaks it doesn't look like they're far wrong.
