it's over. no way trump wins five in a row. since he was 7-3 up it's 12-4 to mjw
By:
trump's not the goat elisjohn. not even close. his record at this tournament means he isn't even in the conversation for me
By:
of course hes not but if you read the posts on here by some HE is
, hes a very average player, RONNIE IS THE GOAT |
By:
hoped there would be drama but there's none
By:
does anyone on here think judd is the goat?
By:
I can't even recall anybody suggesting he is.
By:
me neither
By:
personally i'm not even having ronnie as the goat. is he the goat for natural talent yes no question. but his strike rate at the worlds is dreadful. it's hendry for me
By:
hendry was a relentless winning machine and that's what makes a goat for me
By:
80s & earlier is before my time
but in my time following snooker hendry best break builder imo ronnie the most naturally gifted player, sweetest timer of the ball |
By:
hendry wasn't in bucket era but then again ronnie has been at or towards the top of the game for a lot longer
so its hobsons choice ![]() |
By:
for me achievement is a relative concept. o'sullivan should have won way more worlds than he did and i say did because he wont win another one. at least double figures. whereas it's hard to make an argument that hendry should have won more and the goat conversation should always be settled relative to the biggest tournament and that's the worlds
By:
so its a tie

Ian McCulloch - On 11 October 2009, he won the Bodensee Open, although he was the only professional player taking part.
Quality |

DT, there have literally been hundreds of pots that have gone in.... "as soon as they hit that near knuckle, they won't go in".
By:
ronnie has been mythologised way beyond his talent. you hear the commentators talking about never being out of position and never missing a pot and never losing when he's supposed to win. absolute rubbish to the point that you wonder if brainwashing is involved
By:
hendry was a relentless winning machine and that's what makes a goat for me
yeah the 90s and early 2000s was peak snooker for me. mid late eighties there was a snooker club everywhere which produced a huge talent pool which hendry dominated. look at the state of british snooker now - is there anyone under 30 in the world top 50? |
By:
16-13. Crucible does funny things, wouldn't rule out the need of Gin later !
By:
no idea at. what i would say that does go against hendry is the depth wasn't there when he was dominating and so it was easier to dominate
By:
By:
having said that though you've still got to do the dominating and there's a lot of pressure to keep doing what you've always done no matter who you're up against and those years where hendry was unbeatable at the crucible frank his goat status for me
By:
as i said angela rebecchi for talent im more than happy to say ronnie is the goat. but sport is a results business and he hasnt delivered as often as he should have. not even close

A_T - JOC at #27, Page at #35, but that's it

By:
ei ei

By:
it's not happening wonders. mjw will get a chance in the next few games and he'll take it

A_T - JOC at #27, Page at #35, but that's it
this is what i mean - at 35 judd is still the young upstart - there's no brit younger than him with anything like the talent he has |
By:
this is going to a decider
By:
hope you're right at. will be a great watch if it does
By:
By:
16-14
By:
The Chinese boys are going to dominate, for sure. Lots of talent amongst them.

yeah especially if the WCs leaves the UK |
By:
clive everton used to say 2 up with 3 to play the most deceptive scoreline
feel judd will win now - williams the sand slipping through his fingers |
By:
TBF, Stan Moody has started to look like he might fulfil the potential this season. He's still a baby in snookering terms.
By:
again hope you're right at
By:
game over. and a deserving winner. the recovery from 7-3 behind was a bit special
By:
Fack me
By:
if he doesn't clinch it here he doesn't deserve to win
