agree, also having the world champs crucible draw approx 2 days before it start is ridicilous

The Players Championship is only a qualifier for the Tour Championship in the sense that it's a ranking event, so you'd be hard pressed to qualify for the PC, win it and not then qualify for the TC.
None of the players who qualify for the TC are going to be in action for the early rounds of WC qualies. Lei is the only one who could theoretically enter before the final Q round (assuming he does nothing at PC and doesn't qualify for TC). |

PS the TC is for 12 players now, up from 8.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the concept of a tour championship, the same as tennis and golf and probably other sports too. Difference with both tennis and golf is their events come at the close of the season which makes sense. Given a carte blanche I'd probably switch it to after world champs and dispense with long format even though there aren't enough long format events. There's a lot i'd "fix" if given the chance!

agree pointless tournament starting today imo, give them another 2 weeks rest and get everyone fresh for the crucible, let the qualifiers begin a week earlier so they finish sooner and get the main draw as it was if i remember correctly on the saturday, week before the start , its stupid having the draw 2 days before the start

Not sure where you're looking, but just bear in mind that Jack lost his dad during the World Grand Prix. Hasn't been seen since.

Bazza still 1.07 to back - methinks the market knows his history, given it's flamin 7-1

If only you could trust Ding to turn up and not hoist the white flag if he goes 2-1 down, he'd be a stonking bet (again) tonight against blind MJW.... Trouble is, you can't trust him, not a jot.

this looks a proper mugfest

Now the market is properly confused. 365 go 2.62 MJW, 2.44 to lay here.
By:
3.2 365, which is nuts, v 2.74 to lay here.
By:
3.75 365 v 3.25 to lay here EOS, 5-3 Ding.
By:
Few quid at 3-3 - Ding at the table at 1.97 MJW
By:
MJW is playing like he's 90 rather than 50
By:
I'd back Ding, but sadly don't trust him either!

Another Selby match snooze-fest incoming!
