I think he's coming to realise he doesn't like the pressure, how he handles the pressure and subsequently how he's being typecast. His performances in recent weeks have been miles off it. John and I discussed several weeks ago that he really needs a head guy in his corner, and not in an Ebdon way! He's NEVER going to win anything without one. Macau is "Ronnie's tournament" (well, an element off - that seems to have grown a second leg) that was originally due to clash with NI. He plays Kyren on the 27th. Yeah, spot on mate. Lot of chatter on the twitter machine to that effect yesterday. Without any insight into how it works with Ebbo, you can at least say it's not working. But i think that could also be as much down to Jack himself. He has to want and be willing to change himself and his game in order to fulfill his talent and i cant see evidence he's anywhere near that place. If he was to take one thing from judd, that would be it i think. Absolutely agree on the need for a good head coach, nothing at all technical, but he has to buy into it first. Really like Jack but he seems stubborn as fck, even more than Judd, maybe he'll just stumble over the line someday and spark something off, but right now it's easier seeing it not happen than the other way around. |

Morning, mate. 100%. I just think the longer "it" goes on, the more he's inevitably going to shy away from the situations in which it gets talked about. It's ridiculous that he's as comfortable as he is with being in Judd's shadow, given his undoubted talent, but that is exactly what it looks like.

I think you're spot on about him being too comfortable mate. I was wondering if he was just jaded last few weeks, but now more inclined to think he just didn't give a fck. Maybe he's already mentally in Macau, massive audience, big money, riding on Ronnie and Judds considerable shadow.
Trying to remember the final he reached a few years back, Gibraltar or oneof those minor ones, where i thought this is finally the time he gets that monkey off his back. But Judd turns up in final and blasts him off the table with his A game. No favour or mercy whatsoever ![]() |
