4-2 Ding, 5-1 Joseph, Fergal needs a snooker to prevent 5-1

4-3 Ford, Pagett's blown an amazing chance for 4-3 virtually straight away, but Ding still looks like he might let him off.

Hancorn pots frameball, misses an absolute sitter of a red next shot, Ali gets two snookers (only needed one), Hancorn sticks the last red, Ali clears. Leads 4-3. A grade muggery from Hancorn.

A few thoughts on some of today's matches: Hugill and Brown's scoring is virtually identical this season. They've never met. Ergo 13/8 v 1/2 seems a bit off to me. Kleckers' numbers are quite a bit improved this season. Holty's have dropped off a bit. They've never played. Kleckers beat Cabby in the qualifying for this and took a couple of frames off Ronnie last week with 70+ breaks. Don't really fancy him to win, but it wouldn't be a shock if he did. Ginger Simon has almost impressed me a couple of times this season - there have been glimmers that there's a player in there. He's very marginally outscoring Page this season, who similar comments can be applied to. Neither of them do it often enough, though. Another 0-0 H2H. 13/8 Lichtenberg v 1/2 Page also seems a bit out of kilter. Purely on the numbers, Dylan Emery is too big v JB, but given his inability to get it done against Slessor last week, even when already over the winning line, you would have to have concerns about his ability to finish it off, if he were to get that far. All the other matches are, broadly speaking, priced how I would expect them to be. GL, all. |

2-0 Theppy over Turker, 1-0 Davy over Croup, and an absolute clown fest of an opening frame between Hugill and Brown finally goes Hugill's way, 1-0.

Good stuff lats. First long haul tournament in ages so I'd be anticipating a few funny results this week. Low odds laying may well be the way to go.
Will be having another look at Sia Juahui against license later on. Think he bottled it a bit against judd last week when the chance to win was there and more likely to nail it today if the chance presents itself again. A few ticks higher would be nice but i generally don't mind taking anto on over the shorter formats. |

Hugill misses a missable frame-ball yellow, Brown clears and leads 2-1. 3-0 Davy, 4-0 Theppy.

Si been on the lower level this season and pretty much blowing most of his opponents away, like a good player should at that level. Guess the issue is bringing that to the higher stage, bit like Michael White. Definitely bottled it against Judd on the match table, long pots missing by 4-5 inches kind of thing. So big question mark there for sure. Will give him a chance tonight anyway and see how he settles.

Yeah, I know, mate, but he has played 11 pro tournaments this season, too, so the numbers I use do represent a fairly-decent sample size. He just hasn't been scoring well enough at this higher level.

Croup steals, 3-1 Davy. 5-0 Theppy
|
|
By:
No argument there lats. He'll have to step up on what he's shown mostly in pro tournaments so far, Murphy victory aside! I'm definitely taking a (likely costly) chance on that

Fack me, Brown and Hugill each miss frame ball - Hugill's a totally unforgiveable final black off the spot. Black ball frame.
|
|
By:
Hugill plays an incredible ballsy (read insane) shot to leave the cueball in the jaws of the corner pocket, leaves Brown angled, who then sticks it but with the cueball on the cush. Decent cueing from Hugill, 2-2.

Bon chance, mate!

The feck is going on here with the scoring now?!? It's rolled back to 2-1 in the Brown/Hugill match! Ref on the phone!
