Has Jimmy White just played his last professional match ?
By:
havent heard him say anything about retirement unless ive missed it in the last few days, hes said in numerous interviews he still enjoys practising etc
By:
Jimmy will be the first to enter q school, just loves playing and gotta admire his appetite for it at this stage. Imagine they can still give him the odd invite for events next season, dont know how that works but guess they can pretty much make up the rules to suit them whenever they wish.

By:
tour card runs out this ssn for jim?
By:
Seems he was already on the second year of a two-year invitational card (as was Ken and Wattana)
By:
not everybody enters the flat 128 events so yeah defo scope for getting people in via the back door in some tournaments
By:
And Ken has just lost 10-4 to Donaldson, so the same could apply to him.
By:
Kens got his card safe so no problems there. Did sort of hint at retirement recently but would be surprised after going through such great lengths to keep his card if he packed it in now.
By:
Oh yeah, Ken's 58th on the 2 year list. I'm surprised by that, I must say!
By:
ken had a decent result fairly recently iirc & also should have beaten ronald in york!!
By:
He's 65th on the 1-year list. Yeah, I remember the ROS game, but I can't remember him doing much else, TBH.
By:
beat mjw in china
By:
Yeah, last 32s is as well as he's done tournament wise this season, though.
By:
Key to keeping card is just winning a match each tournament and maybe a top 16 or 32 thrown in, doesnt seem much but a struggle for a lot of them just to do that much.
By:
agree john...its bottom of the food chain stuff but we are talking bottom of the food chain player

By:
he's done enough to merit staying on the tour imo
a tour that supports a lot of deadwood with worse results than ken has had |
By:
Absolutely wonders. Ken definitely picked it up a bit this season, the few times i saw him he played well. That ronnie match was a blast from the past. The appetite is still there, but i'd say the travel is a right pain in the ass for these guys so not sure how long he wants to go on doing it.

Mug King 8-3 down to Lu Ning.

doc won't be happy

Think there'll definitely be a few shorties to avoid in R3 tomorrow. At first glance G Wilson interests me at odds against v Wenbo. Taking Wenbo on at any time, particularly odds on, seems a fair enough enterprise to me.
By:
Wilson led him 3-0 in China the other week and lost 6-3.
By:
Actually didnt know that lata, didnt see a whole lot of the china thing. Not sure if it puts me off or not, not sure it should tbh.
By:
I remember watching it and being quite impressed with how he turned it around. He then came back from two down a couple of times in the following round against Steadman, where he really should have been beaten, but for Steadman sh1tt1ng himself with the winning line in sight.
Wilson's one of those players I just don't like very much, for some reason... Not entirely sure why. Must have cost me money somewhere down the line. |
By:
he was not fav wonders and rightly so. lu ning better player this season
By:
Any strong fancies today?
I know Joe O'Connor's had a few decent results this year, but I think anything above 2/5 is big on Un-Nooh. I thought Dark Mavis was more of a 1.66 shot than a 1.86+ shot. And I've got Tian Pengfei and Stevens the other way around on my book. |

thepchaiya giving up 1.5 looks big to me

Impressive first frame from JOC, but he's missed that opening pot in frame #2 by a foot, literally.
