Dunn and Bond are STILL only in the 12th frame of their match....
Yuan Sijun trails Jon Astley 7-9! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Think they've both been kicked off at 8-5 to Bond (13 frames in what, 10 hours?) and 9-8 to Astley.

Chinese amateur Pang Junxu beats 1/50 shot S.Carrington 10-6. Pang was 1,000/1 in a place to reach The Crucible. Also in that section of the draw is another young Chinese player X.Si who made 9 breaks of 75+ in his 1st round match. He plays G.Dott next.
By:
Not many shocks overall yet though. 8 of the Round 1 seeds beaten out of 64 shows what slim pickings you are dealing with once you go northwards of the 60s. One guy in the draw had apparently never made a competitive 60 break.

Not many John, but Michael Judge doing the biz again,4-0 up on Xiao.....great start by the 10/1 shot

Wonder what price he was to qualify, dont see him on the 365 list you posted. 100/1 maybe? I'd love to see Mick make it, was there the year he played Ken in the second round in early 2000s, a good steady player on his day.
By:
Ya that 100/1 quote would not be far off.Crazy prices for some,Judge is no mug,a seasoned pro back in the day and still well able to mix it,just missed out last year on making it back on the tour.Love to see him make it back to the crucible.Your 25s on M White is looking good now

Had to reopen a/c i'd closed years ago which was a bit of a nuisance but simply had to be done. Put some fun bets on Ford, Vafaei, Sherriff and White so hopefully get a return out of one or maybe 2 of them. Still wondering whether they'll call palp on the White price, was so out of whack but how likely he'll beat Ali anyway? Probably not very being realistic. Bit of fun anyway.
One price i cant figure out is Craigie 1/2 to beat Ford. How can that be? What am i missing? There's 50 places between them on the rankings nearly, i have to go in again on ford at those odds. |
By:
nobody apart from barry hearn & his cronies think there is sufficient strength in depth to support a tour of over 64 players
By:
That stood out to me too, odds should be the other way around,Ford a far classier player,6/4 is a serious price....I did a double on Cahill(7/4) and Akani(13/8),value again and was going to put in Ford but like Highway he always lets me down
....good luck with those bets![]() |
By:
Craigie is definitely on an upward curve, IMHO, but I too was surprised by that price!
By:
agree with lats, craigie is a better player imo & has had some great results lately
ford hasn't remember bo19 distorts the prices...4/7 v 7/4 only makes craigie a small fav per frame |
By:
S.Cragie dropped off the tour last season, but got back on through Q school - so he only has 1 year's worth of points. His form has been better than T.Ford's since Ford reached the UK Semi Final, in December, but like yous I was surprised Ford was a 7/4 underdog. It looks a very tight call.
By:
lats will know from a previous discussion with me that craigie's upturn in results is no surprise if you are a numbers man
By:
Apparently, he wasn't as dedicated as he should have been in the past, but dropping off the tour last year appears to have been the wake-up call he needed. He certainly looks to be improving, and is a player to watch going forward, but his price suggests he's the equivalent of a player ranked in the mid-twenties.
By:
Agree on that gobe. Wasnt suggesting Craigie was a total back number and he had some good results in china, on top of that never been much of a ford fan, but the prices just looked a little bit out of whack for all that.

Well done Michael Judge, fantastic result beating Xaoi, one win away from a return to the Crucible.....sure to be one amateur there now as he plays James Cahill in the final round.....he will hardly be 10/1 for that
![]() |
By:
Yes, well played M.Judge. He's got through 2 best-of-19s the hard way, making just 3 half centuries. And, he's obviously showed a bit of bottle in both matches. I really hope he can beat J.Cahill on JUDGEment day.
By:
cahill is an amateur in name only
By:
100%, Wonder. Has won more as an amateur than 43 of the "pros" on the 1-year list.
By:
Jimmy 2-0 up on Carter (Carter a pot away from winning the frame in that last one). Remember seeing Ali lose the plot (nothing unusual there, I hear you say!) against Jimmy the last time they met and Jimmy has won the last twice they've played.... One more and this one could be v interesting.

Ryno dropped out of the top 16 prior to the Gibraltar Open (where, funnily enough, he came second).

Presume he gets into trouble for that as snookers required hadn't been reached, even though he couldn't pot the needed black?

No mention of any punishment for Mark Allen when he walked off so won't be a problem. Never seen Craigie crack like that though.
