As someone mentioned earlier ronnie really likes this format and hasn’t failed to reach final in 4 runnings of this event. Two matches in a day, then fck off home until the sf and final, just perfect. If he had his way I bet ronnie would run every tournament like this, even the worlds.

Doesn’t mean he’s nailed on of course, but nor would it give me any inclination to take him on. Day a better prospect later I think.

It's difficult to be overly positive about J.Higgins given his recent statement that he currently hates the game. There was an interesting discussion about him on ITV4 last night, and the general consensus was that he should be more selective about the events he plays in, and not feel like snooker is his job. You'd think he could still keep playing to a high level for another 2-3 years, at least, if he keeps his enthusiasm for the game. And, this would be one of the tournaments you'd hope he'd try to keep himself fresh for. You'd have to think the short format would suit R.Day more, and he is definitely a more confident player after winning a couple of tournaments last year but he's a player I just don't trust especially under pressure - not that that is much of a factor in a best of 7.
