Think McManus is an excellent co commentator. Re his accent he hasn't a very strong Glasgow brogue. Must be from the posh part of Glasgow.

don`t quite understand how Williams is still in this

The commentary by both is refreshing, just as it should be. Great to hear the old fella again.

They are not scared to have long periods of silence.

is infinitely better than listening to taylor waffle on
By:
Not deliberate Alan! it was a Welsh fan crushing a can to put Trump off!!
By:
So true Tommo
By:
Williams will be happy with this decider being a long drawn out affair.
By:
Although Williams won that frame to take it to the decider that shot where he rolled up the red behind the black and over the pocket was a good example of him playing shots where he tries to be too clever. If he gets the pace wrong with that roll up he throws the whole game while he had absolutely nothing to gain by playing the shot in the exact way he wanted. He does that a lot - tries to play a clever shot too many.
By:
Williams has let Trump in so many times in this match, he is over thinking as you allude to Paddy.
By:
never ever seen snooker as bad as it has been this week,it`s like watching at a rileys club
By:
First match i have seen Tommo, but i take your word for it. Unlike Williams to miss a black off it`s spot there.
By:
He will end up flapping about here trying to be clever and by the time he does get in (if he does) at colour will go safe making him an even bigger dog.
By:
Proved me wrong-great pot.
By:
no need to play the hero shot there when the brown was a good finishing shot to get on the blue.
By:
enjoyable frame this
By:
This kind of a finish beats a 147 any day of the week
By:
I don`t get the last shot from williams
By:
Williams mugged again!
By:
Trump just about deserved it.
By:
Jeezus I'd forgotten what a good match looked like. Immensely enjoyable and good to see bit of passion from trump at the end there
By:
if you`de backed the welsh **** you`de be throwing darts at the telly
By:
No need for Williams to attempt to move the brown when he was on his match winning break, stun screw and he is on it. He bottled it really.
By:
Did think trying to move the brown off the green wasnt the shot to play, had the angle to get close behind the brown, that was percentage call
By:
Damn you angel...got there first!
By:
Fair dinkum John.
By:
Only problem with that match is there isnt still 2 more frames to play. Thank you Mr Hearn
By:
Come on lads, keep up. Read my post from 15 minutes ago!
By:
poor bingham, ronnie frightens him to death,he`ll be trembling already
By:
Have'nt seen the odds yet but I would never be afraid to backer Bingo against Ronnie over 11 frames if the price is right.
By:
Paddy, you said it was a hero shot, i disagree it was a bottlers shot. He didn`t want to play the brown from where the stun screw would leave him, but why not? yes he would have to use the rest to play it but the pot was pretty straight forward but it would leave a tricky blue, but so what? at least it would leave him the choice to play a cracking safety, and be odds on to win the match. The follow through off the top cush to clip the brown out was not a glory shot, it was more of a shout from a doubter.
By:
id`e price Ronnie at 2/7 and 3/1 bingham
By:
If there were 2 more frames to go in this match gentlemanjohn we would not have got nearly the kind of drama we got in that last frame as it would not have been a decider.
Anyone who thinks snooker is in a worse place presently than it was a few years ago is living in the past. A few years ago snooker was dying out like the dinasaurs did. |
By:
bad choice of word on my part angel. He was a more of a bottle shot.
By:
If the brown was on the other cushion he plays the roll shot. Agree, he had no need to move that brown. He leaves the white anywhere within a fairly big area and he just has to stun it in and hes on the blue. Position on the blue would have taken care of itself.
By:
I kind of thought that`s what you meant Paddy, Hendry, Higgins or Ronnie or just about anyone else would have just stun screwed the green in and seen what they could do with any slight angle left on the brown. If it`s straight so be it, but Williams likes to complicate matters and it`s generally for negative reasons these days.
By:
Poor decision making from the player some folk reckon is the 4th goat of all time!
By:
And even if it was on the other side of the table for a right hander, they would have just played the stun screw.
By:
He is playing really well at the moment but this business of trying to look for a clever shot has been a constant in his game from as far back as I can remember.
