Great performance by Ding.  Top class snooker all week.  A great final and fair play to Robbo for his contribution.

Pecker,

   Thoughts have been with you.

Enjoyed the final but far too short.
Like you pecker its not my favourite format, only just better than nothing.

Did enjoy the roll on roll off  but best of nine should be the minimum played
    in pro snooker tournaments.
Anyway China next and then the best seventeen days in sport.

Take care and hope you find time to sign in.

Surprised to see 15 still available in a place for the Worlds for Ding.  On last night's form, that's a big price.

It certainly is but he is that for a good reason.

In my opinion he is the only player who has the game and talent to put into the same
bracket as Stephen, Ronnie, John and Mark but something has been missing and a wobble
up to now has never been far away.
Ding has played as well if not  better on numerous occasions in the past 7 or 8
seasons but for whatever reason he has failed to turn those performances into wins.
Perhaps his mental approach is at last maturing and if that is the case then there
is no reason why he cannot rule for for a few seasons.
Robbo misses too many pressure balls as he did last night for me to think of him as
multi world champion, very pleasing to watch but like Trump too flashy.
I will be backing Ding along with Allen and another when I see the final draw.

Brilliant week and format
Need to look at the scheduling of the games, maybe next year start a day earlier, some games went on far too late.
The final was brilliant and atmosphere super. All the shocks hit the crowds bigtime.
Well done to Ding, his week for sure and thanks for the 147,can die happy nowSilly.

Yeah was at the final the stunning, quality match to watch, Robertson didn't do much wrong to lose from that position... I picked a bad time to jump off the Ding bandwagon... but he has definitely convinced me to jump back on for the World Championship Cry 8 centuries this week including a 147 and nobody else managed more than 1 century.

Gutted I missed the 147... someone a few years ago in a Irish underage tournament almost made a 147 against me, 15 reds 15 blacks... one of my **** safeties knocked the yellow tight on the baulk cushion though CryPlain yellow rattled

Enjoyed the week, hope it's back week next year

I dont think the final was great from the point of view it was too short.
This format is a disaster waiting to happen.
On these tables its more than possible for 4 fames to take less than 40 minutes and then you are left with a scenario of fans arriving, sitting waiting for an hour or more only to find themselves on their way home and the cost of the evening looking extremely expensive and short lived.
Its just another example of the rather dubious mister Hearn stacking it high and selling it cheap.

Do we want every event to be the same??This is something different, great entertainment Sunday night and all week in fact and when  you look back over the PTC events think it has been a big success to date.
Just hope Finals come back here next year, most enjoyable week.

Would making any snooker match a frame or two longer make it worse? not in my book.

I dont want misguided people turning the game into a pool competition and all the importance and esteem that is held in.
When I watch a game I like it to be decided by guts and skill and not by the run of the ball in a sprint, especially if it carries ranking points.
I suppose it will be played in jeans and tee shirts soon.

Well its a hell of a lot better than a tourney every 3 months!World moves on,can't stay in the dark ages forever. There are plenty of best of 9 games throughout the season, this is just a one off series that has been a huge success.Great to see game spreading to Europe/Australia which has been forgotten for years in my view.

Hope the ticket issue is sorted for China later this month, really need to market that area so much better.

2 to 3 hundred million watching on tv is where the money is in china.

Not so sure the ticket prices mentioned here are correct but obviously the cheaper the better.
The other issue is, is there really a demand to have 4-5 tables in an arena ??  I certainly would not attend and while I am not against change if it does not devalue the game but in my view thats exactly what is happening.

Its worth remembering that in the dark ages you refer to snooker was infinitely more popular and its format was not wam bam and thankyou mam. It had class.

So game has no class now has it? You can moan and bitch till the cows come home, but we'r not living in the 1980s anymore. If you want the game to survive its the youth that you need to get onside, they aint going to buy into a tip tap game, like it or not.Its FACT!!!

The game moves on,deal with it!!!

The Stunning

It's great that you dont dismiss a wealth of experience and voice your salient opinions so eloquently unlike those childish posters who just seek to have the last word regardless.

Regarding 4-5 tables in a venue i think it was a tournament in germany i watched a few months ago. They had several tables set up close to each other with no partitions and it was the best looking venue i have ever seen. It had the look of an old fashioned snooker hall but with a modern twist in the way the tables were aligned with the main tv table in the middle.

Pity  if thats the case, really enjoyed it the last couple of years and the players were very positive about it too.
